Good morning everyone, i seen my FS yesterday and had a chat about ivf and my options and he decided that i should try an ivf type thing (i forget what he called it) it isnt actually full ivf but it involves me having a nasal spray for 2 weeks to flush out all my hormnes then after that i will start injections to get me to ovulate and then i will be implanted with hubbys sperm. I have to ring him today and if the blood tests are fine i will start tonight. Its very exciting but im trying not to put all my hopes in it. Oh and for the bonus part it will only be $350 out of pocket for us, i was thinking $1000 minimum :) i will keep you updated.
Have a great weekend everyone, hubby is home tonight and we are having weekend visitors so im in my happy place.
Will be keeping everything crossed for you becc
Tammara - that is great news - I think it is called IUI. That is what I was possibly starting in September. Apparently it has a good success rate according to my doctor, so I hope it works for you.
Hi Girls
Long time no chat, last time i was on here DH and i had decided no more clomid, well guess what,FS has strongly suggested we have another go and this time i will be monitored with US and given a trigger injection so im hoping this may work! We have now hit the one year mark since we lost our baby girl so i think im due for my BFP.
Speaking of BFP, congrats Bec, how exciting for you,i hope all goes great!:p
So i think i may be joining you girls once again this month for a bit of support if you dont mind?
Hope everyone had a great weekend!... :)
I am up to day 21, i know i ov day 15 i was in so much pain, which is a great thing if you ask me :) Now just have to hope it worked for us..
Good to have you back beckie, feels good to be trying anything doesnt it...
I will have to look into the IUI my fs has nver discussed this with me, maybe this could be another step me and dh could take whilst still trying to save for ivf??
Becc make sure you tell us any news as soon as you no... :)
Hi Girls
I started on the nasal spray on Saturday, pretty easy but it does leave a bit of a taste in your mouth but this only lasts a minute or less so i just have water in hand. Im having the spray for two weeks then get another blood test then start on the injections. Not too keen on giving myself injections but you gotta do it :)
Hopw everyone is going along great!
Welcome back Beckie, also hope it worked this month Frustrated.
Tammara fingers crossed for you too.
AFM - I had my blood test again today and got the phone call from the FS confirming yes I am finally preggies!!!!!! I am still in shock and have no idea now what I am supposed to be doing as I have concentrated on getting BFP for so long - didn't think what is to come afterwards!
Thanks for all the great support on here and I wish you all the best. I won't post much more now, but will keep an eye on the pages and popping in every now and then - I would love to see more BFP in the future. I have my fingers crossed for all of you.
Baby dust to all
Thats fantastic news, i will have all my fingers crossed for you and hope you have an event free pregnancy.
Gives me hope when i see the success stories :)
Hi gy=uys, I thought I would join this group, I have PCOS and been trying for last 18months, I been on clomid now for 6 months and no ovulation at all I am currently on 100mg but obs wants me to stay on that amount again this month, I want to up it as I want to try a higher dose to get things moving but is this dangerous? Well I like reading your stories and gives me some hope.
hi Mandii, hope you get alot of information and comfort from this link. As for upping your dose i dont know about being dangerous but i would talk to your dr before you do anything that way you know you are doing the best you can.
Ive been doing the naisal spray for just over a week now, go to see FS tomorrow to learn how to inject myself, fun day ahead - hope i dont have to keep practising lol but it will be all worth it if i get my mini me out of it :)
Hope your weekends were relaxing
Hi ladies
My BT on CD9 came back as no response, so I got another done Saturday (CD11) and still no response. My FS had put me on another course (5 days) of clomid (still 50mg) and then another BT when finished. Has anyone else done more than one course in a cycle?
Hope all are well. :)
Hi Everyone,
I started clomid this month and have been on it for 3 weeks now.
Going to doc tomorrow to find out if anything has fotten bigger.
Angela
Hi ladies, just a little update with me. I seen the Dr today and discussed the next step - i have been doing the nasal spray for 10 days now and i have to go for another blood test on thursday and if that is all good then i start taking the injections on the monday. Then i think 2 weeks after i start injections i have an ultrasound to check my folicles and hopefully i will have the right amount of good ones and then get inseminated on August 14th (sound like a cow lol).
So fingers crossed everything goes well.
Hi Guys,
After being on clomid since the start of July, I am now on injections Gonal-F
Having scan on friday , tryng to make one follicle grow its at 13mm atm..
Fingers crossed.
angela.
P.s anyone has any sucess rates from injections?
hi angenathan
ive not done injections only the clomid tablets so i cant offer any advice for you sorry. But good luck with it :)
Hi,
I just got a call and all is going well with me so i start the injections on monday :)
Hi everyone,
Ive Recently been diagnosed with pcos, i have written abit about me on my blog, please feel free to look at it, by clicking on my username erin11
My partner and i are trying to get pregnant, but have found it a hard journey, i have just rencently been put on meteformin, so im busy trying to get used to the nausea, its definantley not fun..
i would love to meet women in the same position as me or who have had pcos for a while, as i am only 20 years old.
thanks erin :)
Hi Girls
Welcome to the thread Erin, hope you get some useful info or tips from this :O)
Tonight i had my first needle and after about 5 minutes of sitting there trying to phsyc myself up to inject, i did it and didnt hurt at all thankfully.
1 down 13 more to go.
Hope everyone is well
Hi Tammara, Thank you for welcoming me, if you dont mind me asking what are you having injections for and what are they??
I dont mind, im doing IUI - intrauterine insemination (excuse spelling) because my hubby is working away and timing is just not on our side.
I think this is how it works - i use a nasal spray for 14 days to take my hormones away then have a blood test to see if things are going on then i start taking injections to get me ready for ovulation for 14 days then another blood test and if everything is going well (this is where im not 100% sure) i think i will go and have an ultrasound to count folicles and if everything is going the way it should i have to take 3 more injections to ovulate then i go to the dr's and the washed sperm gets inserted into me.
im sure there is lots more but i think thats the basics :)
Hi Tammara, thats alot to take in, i wish you all the luck for that.. it must be very hard..
Tammara, that sounds like a plan, lucky you,at least your moving forward! My girlfriend had IUI last year and now has a gorgeous baby boy.....
Im on CD21 and nothing out of the ordinary to report, having alot of symptoms but have learned the hard way that CLomid can do this so not reading too much into it.
I hope everyone else is doing ok!!!!:p:p
Hi beckie - yeah things are moving forward which is good but also i am trying very hard not to get my hopes up while trying to stay positive
Erin - i guess it seems like a lot but it isnt too bad really, and if it does get hard i will just remember its all worth it :)
Good night all
hey everyone,
Just cathing up on everyone's last month, I have been so busy so havent got on in here in awhile.
Tammara i wish you all the luck, please keep me posted as in about 2 weeks when i get af i am starting the process of ivf.I will be put on a pill for 18 days then the rest seems exactly what you are doing, the spray then the injections. We had our councellor app 2 days ago and we got the all clear to start. Looking forward to it and glad we took the next step, It is alot to take in but like you said Tammara what we will get out of it at the end makes it so worth it...
I get really scared when i think about the entire process but then i see a pic in my mind of what our bubby will look like and its all goes away. DH is being so great, Dr FS warned him of the moods etc, and he just said to me that he will put up with what ever it takes for us to get our angel. He will also be the one doing my injections as there is no way possible i could do this myself
I hope everyone else is moving on great!
The injections really arent that bad the first 14 days are done with a pen (like a diabetic pen needle) the last lot of needles are done with a suringe and they are the ones that might sting so i will have my fingers crossed for those ones. To be honest i would rather use the pen needle instead of the spray. it leaves a yucky taste in your mouth so i advise having a glass of water handy when spraying.
Thanks Tammara, Its good to hear from someone who is doing the same thing to give some advice. I hope it's all going great for you & everyone else :)
Everything is going fine, i have my third blood test today so i will find out tomorrow if i go to the next step and then have my ultrasound (i would guess wednesday) then if all is well the procedure is done friday.
Im excited but also a little scared, ive been trying so hard not to get my hopes up because the chances of it working are still small but im keeping positive too.
Good luck Tammara i have everything crossed for you :)
I have my fs app next week to get all my pills and sprays so i can get started when af arrives.
Excited/nervous and anxious.
I go for my ultrasound on thursday so i hope there is the right amount of folicles and they are all good ones.
Frustrated - the needles are not that bad at all, i found if i put the needle in slowly it didnt hurt at all, there has only been one needle that was a bit sore but not too bad. Good luck with your journey
Hi All,
Just thought I would join in here.... Haven't quite been 12 months TTC this time around - only since Feb, however took 2 year with DD #1 and am now off to OB on Tuesday to get script for Clomid. This was how I had to conceive #1, so have been there done that, so to speak, but still pretty nervous about it! Don't know if anyone else experiences the same, but I was an extremely difficult person to live with at times! V. moody and unstable! Anyway - fingers crossed, it worked really well for me last time so hopefully nothing has changed!
Nell
Hey girls - just thought I would pop in and see how everyone is going on this thread - good to see you are getting started both Tammara and Frustrated. Hi to the new girls on the thread.
Hope everyone is travelling well.
Becc
Hi girls
An update with me - Had my ultrasound last Thursday to check for folicles, unfortunately there were not enough big ones so my injections were bumped up from 50 to 75ml. I Just had another ultrasound this morning and unfortunately again not enough big ones. So now i am stopping the nose spray and bumped the injections to 100ml for a week then go for another ultrasound next Monday and hope that the folicles are big enough. The risk now is that i will produce too many big ones and have to stop everything alltogether. It is so hard sometimes.
So unfortunately my usuall positive self is having a bit of a melt down today, i sometimes feel that im all alone in the process cos hubby is working away so even though i know he is here for me it still gets me down.
Enough poor me now. Hope everyone else is feeling better than i am today.
Aw Tamara i feel for you, once you start this i guess you just think Yay Im on my way, well thats how i am feeling anyway. I gues you dont think everything that could go wrong will. I 'm so sorry and im praying for you that this time next week you will be telling us that your have the right amount/size etc...:crossfingers:
I went and got my pill and nasal spray yesterday , all ready to start next week when af arrives Excited, nervous so many different emotions.
Thinking of everyone and hoping for some good news :)
Thanks frustrated, i think its worse cose of all the hormones going mental. I actually go for my ultrasound on friday not monday so if all goes well (fingers and everything crossed) i might be able to get the insemination done on saturday cos hubby is home friday night .
good luck with everything yourself
Oh Hormones, im so over them, i cry then i laugh then i cry again. Im constantly apologising to Dh, When the nurse told us that the spray is like putting my body into early menopause he was like nooooooo.. U feel sorry for him. :( But he is great and trying so hard to tolerate my moods..
Good luck :)
one good thing is im not using the spray at the moment but i have deffinately noticed the hot flushes - omg im not looking forward to menopaus lol
Just wondering if anyone has heard of a procedure called golfing? it apparently helps the folicles. When i spoke to the Dr they said that could be an option but i have tried to google it and cant find anything - im probably spelling it wrong.
Afternoon Tammara - I have heard of ovary golfing. I looked it up once as my FS mentioned it to me.
Here is a link:

Hope it helps

Well third time unfortuntatly was not lucky for me. Just had another ultrasound and nothing is going on at the moment, have to go back on Monday for another ultrasound so fingers crossed. Trying not to let the dissapointment get me down.
