Do a little research and see what options r good for u

Thanks Bec I am hoping it worked but if it doesn't its ok
I have 1 more round of clomid and a FS appt for March

    Hi Ladies,

Tammara - hope your "me" weekend went well!

Back at work (and therefore this site) today. Lap on Thursday went well I think. The surgeon said they did the golf balling and the tubes seemed ok.

I had some pain but not too much and am feeling ok. I didn't have much bleeding after the lap - has anyone? But strangely yesterday (Sunday) I started to bleed and I am 80% certain it is my period, not post op stuff. But just seems to good to be true that I got it so soon, my FS said don't expect it for several weeks at best (I have only had 1 normal bleed in 15mths and I think that was brought on my nautral herb medicine).

May be this month (or next) I will finally ov! (Although FS said that I will probably have to start Clomid again, aghgh, thought I was done with that - 150mg didn't do anything last time)! Fortunately I take Clomid and Metformin with very few side affects (like others have said - definitely take it with food and NOT on an empty stomach and you should be ok).

If you are trying to loose weight and haven't tried a naturopath or dietician I recommend giving it a go. I used to get big sugar cravings and chocolate was my absolute downfall. But my naturopath suggested a different diet of nautral (low sugar) museli with natural yoghurt for breakfast, salad (with beans or tuna) or lunch and dinner of meat & veg. Plus supplement whever possible the food with natural protein e.g. Quinoa or Amaranth (both go well in salads and even amaranth in museli). Since I started this a couple of months ago I have found the protein to fill me up for longer and it has dimnished my sugar/chocolate cravings (although it was bloody hard to begin with)!

Good luck to you all - be it with weight loss, cycles, ovulation, TTC, and finally pregnancy!

    Hello all!

Back from our little mini holiday - feeling very relaxed.

Have caught up with where everyone is, but I won't attempt persies.

Just an update from me: I went to the OBS/GYNO today & he wouldn't do a laproscopy....we had a good chat & he said that 50% of couple will fall pg on Clomid within 6 months & if no pg by then (so, April), then down the road of exploratory stuff (ie: lap, IVF referral etc...) I managed to get another blood test for this Friday to confirm I am still ovulating on the Clomid (first cycle was done & results were 60, which aparently is very good) and DH has got a referral to get his sperm tested at Monash, which will be sometime during the week of the 15th Feb) So overall whilst not exactly what I wanted, I feel calmer & a bit more optimistic (could be from the chat with the counsellor & mini break too!)

If DH sperm results come back 'poor' then he will fast forward my lap & referral to IVF.

Best of luck to you all. I hope to see some BFP posts soon :-)

    Hi ladies

OMG I've just done a mad dash to my FS thinking I had a staph infection in my belly button!!! A few days after I got my lap stitches out I developed a small rash around the area where the stitches where and it was itchy and raised. So I went to the chemist yesterday and she said it looked like staph. ARGHHHHH!!! Freaking out big time!!! So my FS was wonderful and slotted me in to see him during his busy day and he reckons it's not staph, just some sort of allergic reaction. Phew! Talk about stress I didn't need (but guess the chemist was only doing her job...) Has anyone else had an allergic reaction at the site of incision?

20094me - glad to hear your lap went well. Do you know when you get your results? I bled for 10 days after my lap - it was only light though, like the very beginning or end of a period. Good advice on the diet front too. I love using quinoa in my salads - it's very yummy with roast pumpkin, beetroot and fetta...yummmm

RiChiChi - glad you're feeling a bit calmer. If your DH sperm is 'poor' then shouldn't he be getting help to improve his sperm rather than you getting fast forwarded for a lap?? Here's another miracle baby story I just heard. Friends of ours in NZ had 2 kids and wanted 1 more, but the DH was told his sperm was very poor and there was no way he could father another child....so of course they gave up hope and only months later, they became UTD! Just proves miracles can happen and the doctors don't always get it right.

I think I'm going a bit mad in this heat - I made up a little song this morning to help bring our baby into our lives. I'm going to sing it everyday so hopefully it works! Nothing else has so far!

    Babydust to your all....

    Thumbs up

hey mez moz!!! i wanna hear your little song lol

as for your reaction, ive not had a reaction on the actual incission site but if i have some sort of dressings on i have a red rash its sort of blisters and is as itchy as hell but usually just on the edges of the dressing.

my little chook had her ultrasound today and i think its a good result so far she had 19 folicles on one side and 15 on the other side all ranging from 11-15mm she has taken her trigger injection tonight so hope the have grown a little during the day and she goes for egg retrieval wednesday morning all very exciting. i am getting positive about it now i know they folicles probably wont all make an egg or a suitable egg but i would be so happy if even 1/4 of them made a good egg

    Hi Ladies

Mez Moz I too want to hear our little song lol. I didn't get stitches with my op. They glued me. I was so relieved because I have a phobia about stitches lol. My bleeding only lasted 5 days as well. I think I had a really lucky experience for my first op.

AFM just waiting to O. Doing my BBT and OPKs so hopefully I can pin point O again this cycle. I'll use pre seed again as well. But I'll wait untill I get a +OPK before I bring that out. Last cycle I thought I o'd around CD 16 so I usedthe pre seed around that time but I o'd later than I thought on CD23 and nearly missed it not that it worked lol.

Mez - DH won't have his swimmers tested until next week - sorry my post must have been confusing - had alot to get out! Sorry to hear you have had an allergic reaction - but to what? Can you put anything on the affected area?

    Tammara - Great result!

Porsche - I haven't used pre-seed, but perhaps I should as I think the Clomid has had an effect 'down there' with lubrication.... Are you just DTD when you get a + OPK or do you have a 'science' to it?

    Hi RhiChiChi

Last cycle we DTD every second day using the pre seed. but I thought we were due to O around CD14-16 roughly as that is when I had O previous cycles. So we used it around those days but every second day. But after I noticed EWCM (CD21) I did an OPK and 2 days later it was a + so I freaked out a little as I only had 1 application of pre seed left.

This cycle though we will DTD every second day starting as of CD9 (Sunday just gone) as well as using OPK's. But I won't use the pre seed until I get a + OPK. I'm supposed to O between CD10 - 16 but that isn't set in stone. I'm also taking my BBT so I can track it that way as well.

I use a Clomid calculator so I can get a rough idea of when I do O. it gives me a rough guesstimate of the dates I should start testing for LH as well as roughly when I should O and when to start making love. Except for last month it has been pretty spot on for me. The info is at Baby Med if anyone is interested.

I think I O'd late last cycle (cycle 6) because the cycle before that (Cycle 5) I got a + HPT for 2 days on IC and then a - on a crystal clear so I may have been very early pregnant or it was a chemical pregnancy. That's all I can put the late O down too. I don't know for sure if i was pregnant as I didn't have a BT as this all happened over the space of 3 days. I just put it down to 2 faulty IC and an accurate crystal clear.

I hope that makes sense. I think I've confused myself lol.

Porsche - Thanks for the info on Clomid, sounds like the advice you have been given is the same for me - must be stock standard if on Clomid? I looked at the Clomid calculator and it calculated my dates with exactly what the OBS/GYNO said, except he said to continue to DTD til at least CD 21, whereas the calculator said to stop at CD 17. I think I have already O, perhaps on CD 14 as I had horrific pains down there on & off all day plus OBS/GYNO said it would be likely given my cycle of 29 days that O should be about CD 14/15. The only thing that has confused me a bit is I got a very small amount of EWCM on CD 12. If I don't fall pg this cycle, I will get some pre-seed - the chemist down the road stocks it.

I'm sorry if you did have a loss on your previous cycle. x

    Hi Rhichichi

You will have EWCM a couple of days before you O as this is your "fertile window". It lasts for a few days before O and a few days after O to give the sperm a friendly environment for fertilisation. I think all up my "fertile window" was about 4-5 days from memory. So to me you getting EWCM on CD12 sounds normal to me.

The pre seed mimics your bodies natural sperm friendly environment so gives them a better chance to get to where they need to get to. And it can't hurt anyway lol.

PS Mods: Sorry about the link I'm still learning the no no's.

    Hi girls,
RhiChiChi- I agree with Porsche, I usually get the EWCM for 3 days (1 before I O, 1 on the day and 1 after), and the pains usually clarify! TMI, but I hope that helps.

Tammara- that's great! Good luck today for collection

Mez, you poor thing! I hope the wound is starting to clear up now. It's probable that the reaction was to the dressing or the tape they used. apparently that adhesive on the tape causes lots of problems if its on for a while. Hope it's good now though.

Porcshe-I've not heard of Preseed before, but I might give it a go this round. ANything to help the lttle blighters get where they're going!

Hope everyone else is going well!
AFM- Heading off for my op in about an hour, I'm a little nervous! Wish I knew more about how I'd feel post op, but I guess I'll just wait and see. Anyway, hopefully this will do the trick, becasue 4 of my friends have just announced they were pregnant, 1 who said she didn't want kids, and I'm a little heart broken. I'm so happy for them, but a little jealous too, and that sounds so selfish, and then I feel bad...anyway, enough of my rant (Sorry girls!)

    Talk soon,
    Bec

    lap wounds also

Mez moz! I too have an itchy (sometimes sore) belly button and raised hardness at the top! I called my FS (who is the surgeon who did it) and he said probably nothing but to come in if I want. I thought I would leave it a day or two but it sounds exactly the same as yours! I had 3 incisions, the lower 2 are fine, it is just the belly one that is sore and itchy. The FS said it shouldn’t be raised at the top of the naval as the incision was at the bottom. Where is yours? Have you removed the glue straps? I removed the bandage to get some air in but am scared to remove the straps!

Mez Moz & Porshe – I was sure that the bleeding was period as my bleeding from the op was minimal and this only started Sunday (accompanied by minor cramps) – but it has pretty much stopped again as of yesterday so must be post op? What do you think? I would like to know if it was beginning of cycle or not.

    What is pre seed?

    Hi 20094me

I had AF when they did my Op so I couldn't tell you what your bleeding is. I know that's not any help.

Pre seed is a sperm friendly lubricant. It mimics your body's natural lubrication so the sperm have a chance to get to where they need to go. This is a caption about the product.

Pre~Seed provides moisture without harming sperm. For use even while trying to conceive - a time of increased vaginal dryness when other products should be avoided due to their detrimental effects on sperm.

Pre~Seed is the Right Solution for Vaginal Dryness Even While Trying to Conceive

Single use applicators coat the vagina to mimic body secretions
pH balanced to semen for an optimal sperm environment
Uniquely contains arabinogalactan, a bio active plant polysaccharide to provide antioxidant support

Pre~Seed is the first "sperm-friendly" Vaginal Lubricant that mimics natural body secretions to relieve vaginal dryness while providing an optimal sperm environment. Pre~Seed's moisture is delivered in a fluid with the same pH and osmolarity assemen, so as not to harm sperm, and to be mild to a woman's body.

Pre~Seed contains a naturally occurring bio active plant sugar (arabinogalactan) which provides antioxidant support to cells. Antioxidant levels can be severely decreased in semen from men with fertility problems. Pre~Seed comes in convenient single use vaginal applicators to coat the vagina and external cervix toreplenish nature's moisture without harming sperm even while trying to conceive - a time of increased vaginal dryness when other personal lubricants should be avoided.

Hope that explains it for you better.

    Hey all,

Re: the EWCM I only had it for one day & it was such a tiny amount.... anyway hopefully it is enough.

Bec - Best of luck with the lap, I hope it went well and you have a speedy recovery. I feel the same way as you about people falling pg. Went back to playgroup yesterday with DD & there was a lady there who was over 20 weeks pg & it hit me like a ton of bricks. Was feeling very melancholy for the rest of the day.

Great news Tammara! How many eggs will they put in?

    HI girls,
Thanks for the best wishes. All went well, and polyp is gone. Have to speak to FS tomorrow reathology, (should be fine, he said) and need to find out whether we can try this month or not. Still a bit woozy today, but pain isn't too bad.

Tammara- that's great! Hope all goes well tomorrow
RhiChiChi- It's a bit bitter sweet isn't it, when someone else is pregnant? If I hear one more person say, "Just be patient..." or "Just relax, it will happen" I think I'm going to scream!
Porsche- thanks for the info on Preseed. Might see if my local chemist has it. I was nervous when I got to the hospital, but the 3 1/2 hour wait calmed my nerves somewhat!
Kim- Hope your wounds are feeling better and you are able to sort out whether AF has arrived or not. I hate having my count confused!

I'm off back to bed now, so I'll chat again later.
    Ciao!

    Hi Ladies

Hey Bec, glad to hear you're on the mend and that it all went well. Hopefully you can start trying again soon. Totally know what you mean about friends telling you they're pregnant. Unfortuatly that little green monster seems to creap up on all of us sometimes. And yes I HATE the 'just relax' or 'it'll happen when you're not trying', how the heck do you not try for something you want?

Tammara, that is fantastic news, good luck getting the little ones planted (if you know what I mean), everything is crossed for you

Porche, thanks so much for the pre seed info, I am in the process of buying some as we speak, figure it cant hurt.

AFM, I am just waitin to get my results to see if I O without Clomid this month. Either way I am back onto 100mg of Clomid next month for 2 months to hopefully get UTD before we have to start on IVF.

Thanks so everyone for advise with other options before trying IVF. The problem with blocked tubes though is there really isn't any other options. Yes I still could concieve naturally but the fact that we have been TTC for 3 years (yesterday was our 3 year wedding anniversary) with no luck, my gyno can see how upset I am getting with it and feels that 6 more months on Clomid might just send me over the edge. So whilst I would prefer not to be on IVF I would also prefer not to be having such trouble TTC. So fingers crossed we by some miracle get UTD in the next 2 months.
