    Hi Lou

When I was first prescribed Metformin my GP warned me about the tummy upsets so she prescribed Diabex which is slow release.

I did o.k. on the Diabex but had a lot of nausea - I couldn't get into my GP to get a new script in time so I took DH's Met (he's diabetic) and the nausea stopped. When I told my GP she said that technically they're no different but she's had a lot of women say the same thing about diabex so maybe I was just sensitive to the ingredient that made it slow release?!

I can imagine that it can make thing 'interesting' when you're in the middle of a class and the tummy starts to gurgle On the upside, Met did the trick for me and got me O'ing - the only reason I started on Clomid was because my cycles on Met were between 29 & 35 days and the Clomid has enabled us to pinpoint O

I know exactly what you mean about the irregular cycles - when I was young and living life to the full I thought myself priviledged to only have AF every few months - I didn't realise what a hindrence it would be later on

Anyway, good luck on the Met & I hope your tummy settles soon - if not, maybe suggest the Diabex to the doc when you go back? I also hope that your stay in this thread is short and sweet!

    Hi Ladies..
Kylie - How are you travelling sweet.. You're AF is due same as me.. I'm not much of a POAS'er but I might consider it as I'm going to a theatre restaurant for a girls night out the night before AF is due..
Bonnie - How did the testing go.. I hoping it was good news for you..
Tamara - How are you travelling Hun... I hope you have found some answers to your questions and that your cycle is going well..
Btlou - How is the nausea going.. I hope it's under control.. What did the Doc say...
LSK and Erybery - Our goodluck charms.. I hope you are well.. To anyone i've missed so sorry...
AFM - My hormone rage has subsided and apart from my BB"s starting to get tender as they do every month there's not much happening.. Doesn't mean i'm not constantly thinking about it all though.. 5 days til AF is due..
    Take care eveyone..

    Hi Lilmiss

I had a chat with Bonnie and she was helpful (thanks Bonnie) my cycle is very mental at the moment the last month or so has been a case of when DONT i have AF instead of when DO i get it, But im hoping (fingers crossed) everything is setling down now and my next period will only last a couple of days then i can start the clomid and have the xray and ultrasound and go see DR for an update on what is going on. I forget who was talking about metformin but if it helps, i have been taking it for about 6 weeks i think and i did have upset tummy a few times but i just made sure i take the tablets with meals everytime and it has been ok for the last 2 or 3 weeks so i think it is just my body getting use to it.

    Hope everyone is going well

Hi girls, I am hoping to join this thread! Have been trying naturally for 17 months and have now gone to a specialist and am on my second cycle of chlomid 50 megs. I have had the scans on day 13, got a postive for O on day 19 and have today just had my blood tests to make sure I did. I apparently had an egg on each side 19mm and 16 mm and had all the pains or more so a stretching feeling, am still getting it on day 27. You just sort of give up hope and get very negative each month, thinking that if I don't think it will happen, well then I won't be disappointed. I hope everyone is having luck and baby dust to all.
