Hi Kylie...
I'll join you.. this is my 3rd round of Clomid 25mg... I'm in the TWW as well but because my thermometer battery went flat I have no idea what day I "o"ed.. I'm assuming I did cause i had 2 days of cramping but we'll see.. Have you had many symptoms and did you find them getting worse from one cycle to the next.. i have really felt like I went from no probs first time to cycle from hell.. Well good luck and maybe we can both get our BFP's this time round..
Dee
big loads of babydust to you sweets lil miss
Oops how rude of me.. Congratulatiosn LSK and Erybery...:happyforyou:
Now if Kylie and I can get there.. You 2 can be our lucky charms..
erybery - Congratulations, that's fantastic!!! :stickyvibesgirl:
erybery & LSK - Thank you so much for giving us hope - everyone keeps saying 'it'll happen' but it makes you really believe it when you see it happen for people who have come from exactly where we are now ;)
Hi Dee, thanks for joining me!
Have you had much luck with temping? I tried it but it didn't seem to work for me whereas OPK's do so I don't temp at all now.
As for symptoms and side effects, YES I suffer really bad but the wierdest thing is that Cycle 1 was o.k, Cycle 2 was hell, Cycle 3 was o.k and Cycle 4 was hell - I have an odds & evens thing happening LOL! This cycle has been hell but on the upside, it's the first time I've really felt myself O ... sure, it hurt like hell but it was nice all the same (made me feel like something was actually happening!).
Last cycle we discovered that the Clomid was eradicating my CM so this cycle we've used Robitussin & Preseed also. This cycle we discovered that my LMP is 16 days (thanks to OPK's), not 14 days as the GP said so I really do think that we're in with a chance this cycle - just a shame that it took 4 cycles to make these discoveries ugh!
It looks like we may be due for AF around the same time (I'm due 16th of Feb - 16dpo) so it would be awesome to get out of this thread together! Is this your last cycle on Clomid before IVF or are you going to keep batting on? Are you seeing a FS or monitoring yourself? Sorry,so many questions LOL
Fingers crossed for a BFP for both of us!
i found the same too clomid killed my cm- i used it each time and conviec each time. i also foun dif i took clomid at night it was better less side effects. i tooo felt myslef ovulate!!
Hi Kylie - I have been temping only as that's what my FS wanted me to do and I have not been able to follow the directions for OPK'S like doing it same time and not drinking etc.. i found that temping showed I would "O" CD14 or 15 but this time around my thermometer battery was getting low so it was showing the same temp for about 5 days in a row and by the time I realised it was too late to see a thermal shift... I had a Lap done in Sept and my FS gave me my prescription for Clomid said take half a tablet and take your temp.. He saw me at about cd12 on my first cycle and asked me to fax him my temp chart after "O" and then rang me after that and said keep doing this for 3 cycles and if it hasn't worked after that, it won't and we'll go straight to IVF... I had scarring, a little endo and some adhesions.. I've had no scans or anything else so just BD'ing when we need to... I've not had any probs with having CM but I reckon it was EWCM about CD13 but got ceramping on CD16 which I figured was late "O"pain.. So confusing.. Guess I will just have to wait... It would be awsome to escape this thread together.. I'm due on 14th... How romantic.. Maybe it will turn out to be the best valentines ever...
LSK - Keep talkin', you're building my confidence more & more by the minute LOL! Seriously though, thanks for telling us what worked for you - it really helps!! :D
Dee - I'm crossing my fingers that you caught the big 'O' this cycle and don't have to proceed to IVF. I had a FS tell me the same thing about 3 cycles being the max but I know a LOT of women that fell on the 4th 5th & 6th cycles. Take me for example, it has taken 4 cycles to just work out when I 'O' :o
If AF arrives for me this cycle then I am having a BT on CD3 to find out what my ovarian reserves are. My GP said that if they're o.k. then he won't start pushing IVF for another 2 years. When I had my lap done they said that my ovaries were very 'plump' and that of a woman 5-6 yrs younger than me because I never O'd for so long. I will only have 6 cycles on Clomid and then go back to Met alone because fortunately for me I 'O' on Met alone.
Oh great, AF on Valentines day - let's hope it's a celebration instead! I'm due for testing on Valentine's day too but I'm in two minds as to what to do - If I get a BFN then Valentines day will be ruined ... or it could be the best Valentnes day yet! ho-hum
Like I said, I'm feeling confident this cycle but I also won't be devastated if it doesn't happen because now I know when I'm O'ing and I have the CM thing sorted, I'm keen to get cracking on another cycle ... if that makes sense? ;)
Hi Ladies
I have posted a couple of questions in here but there are so many things i dont know about the process and the road ahead of me. I was hoping there was someone that i could maybe have a 1 on 1 conversation on msn or yahoo so i can ask questions personally, i know when i get one answer i want to ask another question. If anyone has the patience and time to do this i would muchly appreciate it but also understand if there are no takers.
Thanks and good luck everyone :)
Congrat Erybery!!!!! That is such good news. :happyforyou:
I haven't been around here for a while. I'm onto clomid #2 now and 4 days til I can test. I think we stuffed up this cycle though. Not enough BD'ing. We were so busy and tired.
Oh well, hopefully better luck next time and I've still got 4 rounds to go.
hi tammara,
I'm not on yahoo or msn unfotunately or I'd volunteer. Are you on facebook?
Hi Bonnie
I am on facebook, if you are willing to answer my many questions i will add you if you like. What is your email address or full name what ever you prefer.
Thanks
xxxxxxxxxx. See you on facebook!
Hi Tammara :hello:
I don't use msn or yahoo either and I'm not very savvy with facebook but I'm happy to give you my email addy and phone number if you want some more support - in my experience, you can NEVER ask too many questions ;)
Hi Bonnie :hello:
I'll cross my fingers that you have a BFP coming your way in 4 days! Oh & I totally understand the lack of BD'ing - it's too damn hot for starters LOL!
Hi there,
I'm new to this thread. I was diagnosed with PCOS in January and have been on metformin 3 times a day for a few weeks now. It is still playing havoc with my stomach which is hard because I am a teacher and can't just leave the room. Any suggestions to help with this?
I head back to the doc this month and he has said he may prescribe clomid to help us.
It is so frustrating that when I was younger I loved having next irregular periods and now its so irregular when I want a normal cycle! My last cycle lasted 85 days. I am really hoping these tablets start to work soon.
Its great to see succes stories on here and to know that it is possible!
Lou
same- tam- pm me for my details
xoxo
Hi Tamara, Bonnie and Btlou...
Welcome.. Tamara if you post any questions in this thread I will try and answer with what I know or have been through..
Btlou - Sorry i'm no help with metformin as I don't have pcos but I know what it is..'
Good luck to us all I say... May 2009 be our year..
:hello: to Kylie and Lsk
Hi Lou :hello:
When I was first prescribed Metformin my GP warned me about the tummy upsets so she prescribed Diabex which is slow release.
I did o.k. on the Diabex but had a lot of nausea - I couldn't get into my GP to get a new script in time so I took DH's Met (he's diabetic) and the nausea stopped. When I told my GP she said that technically they're no different but she's had a lot of women say the same thing about diabex so maybe I was just sensitive to the ingredient that made it slow release?!
I can imagine that it can make thing 'interesting' when you're in the middle of a class and the tummy starts to gurgle  On the upside, Met did the trick for me and got me O'ing - the only reason I started on Clomid was because my cycles on Met were between 29 & 35 days and the Clomid has enabled us to pinpoint O
I know exactly what you mean about the irregular cycles - when I was young and living life to the full I thought myself priviledged to only have AF every few months - I didn't realise what a hindrence it would be later on
Anyway, good luck on the Met & I hope your tummy settles soon - if not, maybe suggest the Diabex to the doc when you go back? I also hope that your stay in this thread is short and sweet!
Kylie :D
Hi Dee :hello: I hope you're travelling o.k. in the 2ww ;)
bt- i did met first for about 12 months - my cycles were e liek yours 105,90 60 to finally 30 days!! took about 4 months- by that time we were ttc 2 years so really need a boost with clomid.
it will shorten you periods hun.
Hi Ladies..
Kylie - How are you travelling sweet.. You're AF is due same as me.. I'm not much of a POAS'er but I might consider it as I'm going to a theatre restaurant for a girls night out the night before AF is due..
Bonnie - How did the testing go.. I hoping it was good news for you..
Tamara - How are you travelling Hun... I hope you have found some answers to your questions and that your cycle is going well..
Btlou - How is the nausea going.. I hope it's under control.. What did the Doc say...
LSK and Erybery - Our goodluck charms.. I hope you are well.. To anyone i've missed so sorry...
AFM - My hormone rage has subsided and apart from my BB"s starting to get tender as they do every month there's not much happening.. Doesn't mean i'm not constantly thinking about it all though.. 5 days til AF is due..
Take care eveyone..
Hi Lilmiss
I had a chat with Bonnie and she was helpful (thanks Bonnie) my cycle is very mental at the moment the last month or so has been a case of when DONT i have AF instead of when DO i get it, But im hoping (fingers crossed) everything is setling down now and my next period will only last a couple of days then i can start the clomid and have the xray and ultrasound and go see DR for an update on what is going on. I forget who was talking about metformin but if it helps, i have been taking it for about 6 weeks i think and i did have upset tummy a few times but i just made sure i take the tablets with meals everytime and it has been ok for the last 2 or 3 weeks so i think it is just my body getting use to it.
Hope everyone is going well :D
Hi girls, I am hoping to join this thread! Have been trying naturally for 17 months and have now gone to a specialist and am on my second cycle of chlomid 50 megs. I have had the scans on day 13, got a postive for O on day 19 and have today just had my blood tests to make sure I did. I apparently had an egg on each side 19mm and 16 mm and had all the pains or more so a stretching feeling, am still getting it on day 27. You just sort of give up hope and get very negative each month, thinking that if I don't think it will happen, well then I won't be disappointed. :wall: I hope everyone is having luck and baby dust to all.

Hi everyone :hello:
Dee - I'm doing o.k. now that everything has settled down (cycle from HELL!) which also means that AF is on her way (I know my bodyfar too well lol). I POAS yesterday and it was BFN, I was only 9dpo but the symptoms were getting so bad that I just had to know - when will I learn that I get pregnancy symptoms EVERY cycle and I need to ignore them??? :wall:Probably not a bad idea to POAS if you're having a girls night out - then you can either celebrate (non-alcoholic style lol) or drown your sorrows. I'm crossing everythng for you hon
Tammara - It sounds like you've really got the ball rolling - here's hoping it ends in a BFP for you
31becc - Welcome to the thread! Wow, things are looking really positive for you! I know exactly what you mean about giving up hope  I'm crossing everything for you too hon cos it sounds so promising!
AFM - Apart from what's mentioned above, I'm feeling good for the first time in a month so AF is definitely on her way and I'm looking down the barrel of cycle # 5. I don't think I could handle another cycle like this one but I'll keep batting on :D
Hi All,
Well AF is arriving so here we go on cycle #3.
Tammara. I hope things settle down and become more regular for you!
Kylie - I know what you mean. It's frustrating when things still aren't working even with intervention. I hope #5 works for you.
Welcome 31becc! Fingers crossed for you.
hey girls,
just spreading some more babydust and + clomid/met vibes.
kylie- 9dpo is very early both times i thought i'd missed the boat at 9 dpo. just wait a few more days.
tam- glad you got soem questions answered.
bec- looks great- i only ever had one egg form either side so 2 is brill!! let us know how you go.
Bon- cylce 3 is still ealry days- somtime our ovaries jsut need to go thru a few times before they finally click and go "ahhhhhhhhhh eggie" will pray this will be your last cycle for 9 months!! checked out your chart- looks great each month- your lutuel phase is a good length and your O is at a good time of the month too.
each time i waas on clomid i thought it was amzing i actually o'ed. i also used preseed with each cycle i think this helped too.. i could feel myslef O- it was crazy. with my first DS - I felt like i was getting AF for at least the first 3 months!! no joke.
also is anyone here using fertily friend charting apart form bon ?- i found this helped me heaps too
girls with enough posts- feel free to pm me too
xoxo
Hi LSK,
I was using fertility friend. But now I know roughly when I O I've decided to give it a break and swap to OPK's.
I think I am ovulating. The sperm and egg just seem a little un-co really. In the right place, at the right time, and just can't get it together!
try some preseed- i felt it really helped with my egg- sperm thingy and i found clomid left me quite "dry" too.
Has you DH been tested too?
yeah. He's all fine thankfully.
I did have some preseed, but ran out for last cycle. Will buy some more for this one.
that's great- as i said - will pray that this cycle is your last!!
i have some opks' too left over i thnk if you want them pm me girls
Hi girls, thanks for the welcome. yeah don't want to get my hopes up. i had a scan last month and I had one egg on one side, but seemed to miss the boat with the hubby's stuff. I am still getting used to the shortened words on this website! So forgive me.
As for symptoms - I was taking chlomid days 5 to 9 - no more moody than usual and didn't have any symptoms that I noticed. I get a bit frustrated with preganancy symptoms because it seems like I get them each month and then the lovely AF arrives!
Kylie - I know it is hard, but don't give up hope, fingers crossed.
Crossed for everyone!;)
Preseed? Just from chemist?
from lullaby conceptions. it's great!!
becc- it sucks that af and preg sypmtoms are so the same!! :(
Hey Ladies
Wondering what is preseed? and what does it do?
preseed is a lubricant, that helps the sperm swim. Most lubricants are anti-sperm, but preseed is supposed to help with conception.
Ahhh ok, thanks :) Might haave to get some, any help is worth a go.
LSK - yes I will definately be ordering some if I get AF. Thanks
It does suck that they are similar - I am feeling sick right now, but am putting it down to AF pains. but kinda still crossing my fingers! ;)
tam- do a search on here and on the preseed website- wealth of info.
i have some i can give away too- i think it's still within the exp date also have soem OPK's if you want some girls.
I'd love the preseed, but have about 50 OPK's so I think I'll be right with that! lol
Hello again ladies :hello:
Bonnie - LOL @ un-co sperm & eggs! I've been known to swear at my abdomen and give 'pep' talks to my eggs  I hope Cycle # 3 is 'the one' for you
LSK - I know that 9dpo is very early but I'm also listening to my body at the moment and it's saying that AF is on her way - every cycle I get heartburn, tiredness, constipation, sore (.)(.) but then 4-6 days before AF they all disappear and that's exactly what's happened today so I'm convinced that it's all over red rover  I used to use FF but we weren't very good friends LOL I stopped charting because it was stressing me out plus I find the OPK's to be so much easier and accurate.
31becc - I feel your frustration about the pregnancy symptoms and can totally understand you not wanting to get your hopes up - no-one wants to set themselves up for a fall. Fingers crossed that AF stays away!
Tammara - Like LSK, the Clomid has dried up my CM too so I use the preseed and can thoroughly recommend it. I used it in conjunction with Robitussin last cycle and it's the first time I've noticed egg white CM ;)
