BFN for me. AF arrived this arvo, after two days of spotting. Feeling a bit relieved today, spotting is awful, and so "in-between" so AF arriving allows me to purge the last two weeks and move on.
We're meeting with the FS next week to discuss where to from here. We're lucky enough to have 7 frosties, but with the new IVF caps coming in, we need to consider whether we do another stim cycle before 1 January 2010. Lots to consider.
Best of luck to all those in the TWW, will see you again soon.
Seph.
Seph, I'm really sorry hun. Wish I could give you a big hug There is a light at the end of the tunnel hun, don't give up and keep going strong. I wish you a BFP very soon with all my heart
Persephone I am so sorry to hear that this one didn't work............DON"T GIVE UP! I know that sometimes it seems like it is never going to happen but it does. IVF is such a game of numbers, with a whole heap of luck. We go to attempt number 6 and I was starting to think will this ever happen and then for the 7th FET we put two in to try something different and blow me down one took!!
Good luck to everyone on the 2WW....this thread got me through some very tough times
Seph - sorry that it was a BFN, but I understand the relief that at least the TWW part is over - it's awful - especially the 2nd week.
I'm in the TWW too but been keeping quiet a bit on bellybelly - my obsession is bad enough as it is...BUT, after lurking, I had to pop in and mention that I too met DH "late" - met at 36 but I was living in the US and he here in Oz, married just before turning 40...and thus, here we are with IVF...if I dwell too much on this I get sad, and then force myself that I am very lucky to have met someone as wonderful than DH even though I wish it had happened sooner
Seph I am so sorry to hear about your BFN. I know exactly what you mean about the spotting. Until AF arrives properly, I continue to think that maybe the spotting isn't really AF coming on. I know you must feel completely down right now but please don't give up hope. It will happen for us one day, I'm sure of it. When you meet with FS next week, will you discuss options re further investigation on implantation difficulties? DH and I are meeting with our FS tomorrow, and I'll be asking her all about it then in relation to us.
Am thinking of you and hope to see you back in the TWW soon.
Hi there, I am new to this site (not sure I'm using it right) but I'm currently on my 2nd IVF/ICSI and in the dreaded 2WW. I had one Grade 1 blast transferred last Sunday and of course I'm waiting for a sign, overanalysing. I'm really hoping this is the one because this journey is so painful! DH and I decided we would do 10 transfers and this is only the third, so a long way to go yet. But I am really hoping this is it, because it is such a hard process. I am lucky enough to have a 2 yo DS conceived naturally, first try (go figure) and have been trying for about 18 mths for our second. I had a ectopic last July which was very traumatic. Then after that my DH got epididymitis which has damaged his sperm count and now he only produces less than 5million/ml, so natural conception is really no longer an option for us. I feel traumatised and defeated, but am trying to look at the positives.
Anyone currently in an IVF cycle or dreaded 2WW?
Me 34 DH 42
DS born Jul 07 - natural conception
Ectopic Jul 08
1st IVF/ICSI Feb 09 - BFN
FET Apr 09 - BFN
2nd IVF/ICSi Jul 09 - 1 grade 1 blast trans 26 Jul - 2WW
Just wanted to thank you all for your kind thoughts, give my very best to those in the TWW (it's a bit quiet in here at the moment!) and wish everyone luck in getting their deserved and longed-for BFPs.
Janie, thanks so much hun. I still can't belive it myself, and think everyday I am very blessed with this little miracle. I hope all is going well with you.
JVol, GL in your 2WW, I hope this cycle brings you a good result
Seph, you keep going strong hun. You are a very resilient woman and I have no doubt you will have your miracle very soon. I can't wait to be congratulating you!
For everyone else in the TWW, or TTC, I am sending you all lots of strength, patience, hope and most of all determination, as this is really what gets us there in the end. May God bless you all like he did me, and I pray that you are holding a beautiful bub in your arms soon. Keep that dream alive girls, IT WILL HAPPEN!!!!!
JVol - Welcome. I'm not in the TWW yet, but should be in the next couple of weeks. I had an IVF/ICSI transfer in June resulting in a BFN, so am just about to start a FET. I started blood test tracking yesterday and expect to ovulate sometime next week (not sure when - my body does what it wants). I'll be transferring 2 embies this time around and am really hoping at least one sticks!!
Good luck in your TWW. Hope you get your BFP at the end of it.
Hi JVol, I'm currently in my tww - I actually have my blood test tomorrow, but I'm not hopeful as I don't seem to have any symptoms (apart from a cold which is going round at the moment) and I'm getting AF cramping so I'm expecting that any minute... finding it hard to stay positive!
Hoping for something to happen, though, as we've limited ourselves to four rounds of IVF and unfortunately we didn't have anything of good enough quality to freeze. Not looking forward to doing another round with all the stress... I really take my hat off to all of you who have been through a number of rounds!
Thanks Wishes, Beta70 and Redidris for your well wishes. Redidris fingers crossed for you tomorrow. From what I understand AF cramps can be a good sign!? Let me know what happens. My BT is not until Friday week.
I just went and bought myself a stack of preg tests - so I guess that's the road I'm going down. The not knowing is what kills me. I'm 9DPO and hoping, PRAYING (even though I'm not religious) for a sign!! Although I have a feeling it didn't work - having been pregnant before I know the signs and I have ziltch!
JVol, I used Early Response HPT, they are very sensitive. They come in a pack of 3 so they're cheaper than the single ones. I got a very faint second line 4 days b/f my period was due, or 11 days post ovulation (not counting the day I O'd). I wanted to wait til my BT day, but just couldn't help myself! This is my second pg, and in my first one I had no pg symptoms and felt AF was on the way the whole time as I had AF cramping. This time, I had very sore BB but still plenty of AF cramping, just like she was on her way. So GL hun, lack of pg symptpms and AF type cramps are not always bad signs!
Thanks Beta. You gave me a little hope. Did you test before 11DPO and get nothing?
I am using the same test in pack of 3, and they have served me very well in the past, especially when I had my ectopic. I'm on the Pregnyl injections every 3 days, so very hard to work out what is going on, but despite this I will torture myself over the next few days with the tests.
Hey gals! Just checking in to make sure all y'all havent gone stark raving mad (yet).
I am still getting AF cramps and my usual sweet/savoury pmt cravings. Also my ovaries are pinging like I am about to ovulate... I am nearly 6 weeks preg now! It is almost impossible to ignore the "signs" but you really have to try because they all mean nothing until the all important BT.
Crinone mimicks pregnacy and Pregnal stays in your system up to 7 days and will make the poas turn positive.
I think the trick is just try to relax and tell yourself PUPO. Pregnant Until Proven Otherwise. The second those little embybabies are inside us, we are in fact pregnant. Go with that until there is absolute proof to the contrary.
Big hugs everyone. And lots of sticky, sticky babydust.
Thanks JVol and Beata! I know, I know, the cramps could mean something else, but that doesn't stop me from getting a sinking feeling everytime I get one - still holding out a little hope while AF doesn't appear! JVol, no symptoms also doesn't mean anything from what I've been reading - especially so soon! Good luck next Friday (if you can hold on until then... I wouldn't have, but my DH banned me from POAS )
I'll let you know my result tomorrow and keep my fingers crossed for you!
JVol, I didn't test until 11dpo as I thought testing any earlier was not going to show me anything. When I got my second line, it was so faint you could almost miss it. The next day it came up a tad quicker, although it was the same faintness. On the third day, it came up quicker again and it was a tad darker. On the fourth day (which ended up being my BT day as I was alrady seeing my FS) the second line came up first and then the control line, which I took as a good sign. This time the line was heaps darker. I would recommend to test on Sunday hun at the earliest, but don't freak out if you get a neg. as some girls only get the pos. on the pee stick on the day AF is due.
Redidris, my IVF nurse told me AF type cramping and implantation cramping are very similar, and especially if you have ovary pains it's a good sign as the ovaries start to pump out the progesterone when the embryo has implanted. Like Sammie, I had AF type cramping for two weeks after transfer and plenty of ovary pains up until last week.
