    Question Meditation for Fertility?

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

One of the biggest challenges I'm facing at the moment is dealing with my stress levels around LTTTC. We always hear about the alleged impact of stress on fertility, but my problem is more that I focus and obsess about every little twinge and stab and check every symptom that I go mad. I'm very much 'in my own head' at the moment and want to step back and focus more on my emotional health.

So, I'm thinking of going to Yoga this week (a big thing for me, I hate group classes) and I want to do some private meditation as well. Can anyone suggest fertility-like meditation CDs or links? Again, it's not so much to help me concieve, rather it's to help me cope with the stress of trying to concieve.

    TIA,
    Seph

    Hi Seph,

I totally understand the stress you're referring to in relation to LTTTC. I combat it with walks, acupuncture, warm baths, reading and meditation. I attend meditation in my workplace every Thursday morning which I love and I try to do it at home a few times a week also. A CD that was introduced to me is called "Moving On 1" by Carmen Warrington & Margaret Pinkerton. I think it's available on iTunes or you can google their names and try to buy it online. I really like it and find it relevant to IVF as there is a meditation relating to health and seeing positive lights around parts of your body. It's a good way to slow down your breathing and change your thinking to a more positive state.

I also had some sticks little silver roller balls stuck in the tops of my ears yesterday by my acupuncturist to press when I am feeling stressed.

Hope this helps - if anything it should help you to become aware of when you are stressed - I hadn't realised how aggro and uptight I could get in certain situations until I started it! Good luck with it all.

    Hi

Thanks for the info on the CD. I found it on itunes but only under the artist name of Carmen Warrington. When I put both names in it couldn't find anything. There is also a Moving on 2 and a CD called Today I will... guided meditations for peace and relaxation.

Seph, I too find that I can get very stressed very easily, so thanks for asking about this. I am going to give it a try.

I have also found a relaxation CD from Blackmores. I think it came in a pack at the supermarket with some vitamins, vit E cream etc.

Yeah, I second that - I bought it on iTunes last night and did the Orbs of Light meditation this morning - it was very good.

    Thanks Taurean, much appreciated.

Steph, ... i worked with a woman whom had her 1st child thru IVF cause DH had very low sperm count & she previously had Endo ... then she TTC IVF once for her 2nd bub ... Cut a long story short she decided to have a break from IVF & a friend told her to try YOGA so she did just that and fell pregnant naturally only within about 2mths of her last IVF round

I knew there was a reason I log into this tonight, I hardly ever do. I know Carmen personally, she is lovely, just email her and she will help you re. cd's etc. Also if you want a personalised meditation teacher and she isn't available (she is very good and authentic) just write back and I'll give you a recommendation for someone in Nth Fitzroy who is a well known mediation teacher in melb.

Seph - so glad that you have tried the Orbs of Light meditation useful. Make sure you try and do it at least a couple of times a week to give yourself a chance to unwind.

Glad I could be of assistance - everyone is different and I can only suggest what works for me.

Tonight it's cups of tea and Tim Tams! My EPU is tomorrow so just trying to chill right out.
