    Unhappy TTC 8 months

Hi, we've been trying to conceive for approx 8 months but have been referred to Fertility North due to ours as well as the docs concerns over VERY irregular and infrequent periods. hoping that test results reveal something not too serious!! hoping to hear back from people in a similar situation that have any words of hope!

    Hi Dotty,

Just wanted to give you a big

I've got AF problems myself, haven't had a period for nearly 2 years now - so I understand your frustration!

In my case I just don't ovulate, I've been trying acupuncture, chinese herbs and western herbs to fix it - major hormone imbalance. For the first year I wasn't massively concerned as we weren't ready to TTC just yet, that's why I haven't really used western medicine as yet to fix the issue.

My fertility specialist says he can induce ovulation using FSH injections - but there's no point doing that until we actually want to TTC. But we're almost ready for that point now! So if you are also not ovulating then maybe that will work for you too.

Fingers crossed that your FS can sort it out for you soon!

    Hi Dotty
Sorry for the late reply just saw your post. I am also at fertility north just starting IVF. I too got sent by my GP as i was having a 2 week cycle then a 4 week cycle and had been trying to concieve for 18monthes at that stage, i managed to get prg on insemination but it ended up being ectopic so after a few more IUI's were ready to try IVf.
It is a very daunting experience and after a year and lots of test there doesnt seem to be a reason for my infertility. So you dont always get answers but hopefully you get a baby !!!
Fertility north are really great and most of the nurses will take really good care of you, who is your specialist? If i can help or give you anymore info let me know. Good luck and hope your baby dreams come true really soon.

Hi Scooby, thanks for the reply! my specialist is Dr Chapple. Ive beeen to him before...years ago for cervical abnormalities and i remember that he was very comforting and a great help so i hope it will be the same this time around!!! Good luck with your IVF also!! It's such a hard journey, especially when most people around me seem to be falling pregnant first go with no probs!!! well i'm hoping it will be my turn one day!!
