    Hi Everyone,

Glad to see that the thread has kicked off again. I know I've been MIA for a while but I've just been going quietly and keeping my head down as I got a BFP on 16th Oct.

So the details.....I was 17DPO when I got the BFP. I was sure AF was coming as I had light cramps (no other pg symptoms) and got a BFN at 15DPO. This was my 2nd round of clomid: 50mg cd2-6 then 50mg cd10-12 then HCG trigger on CD15.

So I'm 6weeks 2days pg today (too nervous to put a ticker on ). Just now trying to get through the :ms: and waiting for that first U/S.

Sryan, Muggins, Emmalina - Good luck with your Clomid journeys - I hope they're short and sweet. My only realy symptom on Clomid was the wicked hot flushes that usually happened in the middle of the night! Good luck to those of you in the TWW.

Alisia - Good luck with the next round. Sorry its not been smooth sailing with the O induction but I'm sure your FS will have it all worked out soon. My FS told me its really common to have the Clomid work one cycle and not the next.

TwoMums - Enjoy the rest of your TTC break. I hope the new year brings a for you!

Sending you all heaps of I'll be keeping an eye on this thread and look forward to heaps more BFPs really soon!

    Emmalina,
Well, I didn't ovulate, and the follicle, instead of releasing the egg, retained the egg and excess fluid has built up inside the follicle. Most just go away by themselves, mine have in the past, and take about a month or two, sometimes more, sometimes less, its really hard to say what exactly will happen. I'm not really sure if it interferes with the next cycle, that something I have to ask tomorrow at the FS appt (I was a bit upset at the news of a BFN and a cyst that I didn't ask lots of important stuff lol), and yep, its painful, but kind of like a stitch and only if i move a certain way or do certain things that put pressure on that area.

Remember though that I have PCOS, which puts me at a higher risk to cysts and OHSS, and this is the first large cyst I have had in three cycles of treatment so I wouldn't worry too much.

    Hi all,

Well I wish everyone the best with their cycles.

I was getting quite optimistic as I was 13 dpo and no signs of AF Arriving. Had very sore boobs and when I took of my bra it was like red beacons. Unfortunately I have had some bleeding today, so I think AF is arrived. Very disappointed.

All well we try again next cycle......

Congratulations to Principessa76, wish you a very healthy and happy journey in your pregnancy

Principessa, big congrats on your pg. Now i have to ask you, did you really do the BFN at 15DPO and then get a BFP two days later? Because for someone still waiting for AF having got a BFN this morning at day 29, that gives me a tantalising glimmer of hope.... What brand of test were you using? I thought they were supposed to pick up HCG 7-10 DPO but yours obviously took a bit longer.

Good luck to Alisia and Sue.

    Hi Emmalina,

Yep, its true - BFN at 15DPO and BFP at 17DPO. I was expecting AF on 15DPO based on my previous Clomid cycle.

At 15DPO I tested using Pregnow with FMU. Pregnow are supposed to be 10miu - about the most sensitive you can get. Then at 17DPO I tested using First Response Early Pregnancy Test. The BFP at 17DPO was quite dark - if I'd used the First Response at 15DPO I think I could possibly have gotten a very faint BFP (even though its supposed to be less sensitive than the Pregnow).

As long as AF doesn't show there's hope - even if you have cramps and other AF symptoms. (I was sure AF was coming)

Don't give up! I've got my for you!

    Hi all,

I haven't posted in here for a while, but got a BFP today - due to a successful cycle of clomid & metformin. Strangely my endocrinologist told me to stop taking the metformin immediately and my FS said to keep taking it in the 1st trimester. Amazing that there can be such difference in opinions about metformin STILL. What a headache!

Good luck on your clomid and/or metformin journey - I hope you get a BFP real soon!

    Congratulations Principessa and Miss Belinda!!!!

13DPO here, faint faint faint second line on Discover but nothing on Crystal Clear using same "sample" so think probably just an evap. Hate this waiting!!!

Good luck muggins - hope it turns into a great big dark line!

I forgot to update in here, as my blood test came back negative. My GP thinks I either had a faulty test or got a false positive because of the different medications I'm on. So that was disappointing, then AF turned up 2 days after that. So we are going to try the clomid/met combination again this month, then probably have a break over Christmas if it doesn't work.

    Hi
I have been in the TTC buddies forum but I saw this thread and thought I would pop on if thats ok - my story is I used to have 28-30 day cycles - in August it chagnes to 35 days and has stayed that way hubby & started TTC in Sept - I went to the GP because being 35 and my cycle changing like that just had me a bit curious - I got my blood results back yesterday and they showed I had not ovulated and all my hormones were a bit crazy - I cant remember which one but it is but it should be between 1-20 and mine was at 20 (apparently it can be affected by stress) the GP asked had I been stressed and I have just had the most stressful month dealing with horrible family stuff (I wont get into with you all)
Anyway I have do have the bloods done again 21 days after my next period - if it comes back again I have not ovulated the GP will refer me to a gyno.
I was pretty upset yesterday and asked a few questions (my gp is lovely) but I guess I am wondering if anyone here has had the same problem and if my next test comes back negative what is usually the next step if they do send you to a gyno?

If anyone can share experiences or info it would be greatly appreciated as I am scared and confused - DH is being very supportive and telling me not to worry.

    Hello everyone,

Would you mind if i join in here? I am on my second cycle of clomid. Last cycle i had side effects for the whole month (nausea and headaches) but so far this month im feeling great. Only CD10 tho, so hopefully its doing something.

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between clomid and metformin?? I had never heard of metformin until i read some of this thread...

I look forward to speaking to you all and sharing this crazy journey with you!

Just popping in to answer a question, don't really belong here any more.

Metformin is a drug used to treat PCOS, it helps to reduce the insulin resistance that results in PCOS. For some women, merely taking metformin is enough to fix up a wonky cycle and get ovulation happening.

Clomid is the lext line of attack in PCOS - it attempts to force the body to ovulate by other means.

I guess both are put together because the majority of women on clomid have PCOS, but through the time I've spent watching and participating in this thread, I've encountered many, many women who have used clomid to correct an ovulation problem that do not have PCOS.

    Wandering away again now...

nicole, the hormone your dr could be referring you to sounds lke LH. I had a CD21 BT and showed elevated LH, that I had not ovulated, and confirmed a diagnosis of PCOS after an internal scan in April. SO the next step for you is probably to get an scan to have a look, and *possiby* a lap to have a better look (possibly... I had one, but that may just be the way my dr works). Then they'll go from there depending on what is happening. :-)

As for me, I am on 75mg Clomid this cycle. Holy crap, it's knocking me around something shocking. We are gonig to have a 3 month TTC break after this cycle, and then get back into it, hopefully with the injectables because Clomid seems to not be working so great for me, my ovulation is still irregular and my cycles are still pretty long... I thought Clomid kind of brought that into line, which is why I am hoping for someting else, as I don't think this will work.

Clomid is still driving me insane! I'm not pmssy any more but it's day 35 and no sign of AF. I don't have PCOS (my prob is endometriosis or unexplained, depending on which FS you ask!) so I'm not used to long cycles and to all of you who have them, my sympathies because it's torture!

To make it worse, I did a Discover HPT on Saturday which showed a very faint positive. I did another this morning and it was even fainter. There is a whole thread elsewhere on bellybelly about how unreliable Discover HPTs so I don't know what to believe, is it the test being unreliable or could I have a chemical pg (which is what happened last time I did clomid, in 2005)? Can't get in to GP til Thurs to get a quant. HCG done.

Clomid is doing my head in!!!!

    Hi Emmalina,

I am in the same boat as you. I am at day 37 of my 1st clomid cycle and have only been getting brown spotting. Yes have done home pregnancy tests to check and all came back negative.

Went to Repromed (fertility clinic) this morning to have some tests.

Man this has never happened to me either. My longest cycle has been 31 days.

I am awaiting on the results today and then will be contacting my Professor to what to do from here.

Good luck to all and hopefully we all have BFP soon.

    Just an update.

Just had a phone call from Repromed. They are advising that my Progesterone is still too high and thats why I haven't got my AF.

They are now running a pregnancy test.

    Is this a good sign??????

Hi girls - i'm new to this thread, and have just started taking clomid, 50mg, for cd 5 - 10. A big question..... my temp on day 5 was 36.5, then on day 6 it went to 36.95, and now this morning - day 7 - it is 37.4 ?????? Has anyone experienced this while taking clomid? Is it normal? When it was elevated on day 6 i actually peed on a stick just to make sure, even though my period was normal, and of course it came back negative, but just needed to rule that thought out of my mind!
Any thoughts or suggestions from you girls would be appreciated, i'm a little lost for an explanation

Nevermind! I have found out why my temp is running high.... had an injection two days ago - not related to falling preg or fertility - and i now have an infection at the injection site! So that explains everything, and i can relax and enjoy the weekend, and hopefully not suffer from any side effects of clomid! Thanks bellybelly for being here!
