Welcome Lou Lou - How you doing hunny? I will always temp like ren she didn't temp then she stressed more now the cycle she temped again and she was UTD so I am all for temping :)

Bella I am on 150mg for 5 days to see if that works for me and this is maximum dose so hopefully my ovaries wake up and produce me a egg

Me - Well I am still in bed had my wisdom tooth out monday still in pain from that have antibiotics and panadeine and also the clomid my DF said don't get addicted now will you hehe I am like shuddup hehe !!! I just can't wait till Af finishes and let the BD fest begin :)

Thanks Missk and LouLou.. i was just wondering because i started on 100mg for 5 days and my FS wants me to do three of these cycles then give up clomid and move to injections. I really don't feel this is my month so was wondering if i should be increasing the dose but by the sounds of things others increase their dose because they start on 50mg.

I'm just poping in quick as i just finished work so bb tom.

Me - just waiting - i was a little psycho and did two HPT'S (Mon + Wed) both were BFN.. It was a little early but i still don't think this was our month :(. I'm cd 21 today ?13dpo or ?7dpo (not sure when i O'd). So i'm staying away from HPT at least until next Fri when i will test before my accupuncture appt.

Bella - I am doing ok on the double clomid dose thanks, not really going as crazy as I thought I would. DH has been spared :)

Just seen your post about increasing your dose. I shouldn't do it without direction from your doctor. Let's hope you don't need the injections - what do they do by the way?

Hey Bella I have had no side effects from it yet soo maybe this means it isn't working for me again?? I hope you get your BFP this cycle

Lou Lou - the injections are a folicle stimulating hormone that get you to ovulate it has to be monitored very closely as you can get OHSS so when you see sixtuplets etc they are from the injections generally as my FS told me because with IVF they don't put that many in there :)

MissK - 6 babies?! Wow, I can't even begin to imagine.... My FS said that everyone reacts to clomid in a different way. Some people don't notice a difference where as others end up suffering very badly with mood swings and even depression so they have to come off it.

Yeah I was expecting some kind of side effect I thought the 3 a day would have done something atleast? The only thing I was told to be aware of was that it can produce fluid around the heart and the lung which scared me a little last time I had taken it I have never heard of that and it wasn't in the pamphlat either!

Yes 6 babies could you imagine it lol!!! There is a show on foxtel called john and kate plus 8 they have 6 2year olds and 2 6year olds and they seem to cope really well i couldn't do it

Miss K / LouLou - glad to hear you both are doing ok on this round of clomid - I really didn't have any side effects really - i was so worried - your right though apparently some people react bably on it others are ok.
Jon and Kate + 8 - is a great show - i'm a little addicted to all those shows on the health channel - the quintuplets one is great also.
I'm really hoping i won't need the injections because apparently my specialist won't allow / doesn't agree with timed sex during injections and therefore you have to have the sperm inserted after being washed etc - so DH really doesn't want it to get to that! If this isn't our month then next month i'm going to temp and try to be really healthy and give it a really good go - hey do either of your DH take zinc tablets?? Do you think they work?? Is there anything else we can do (i'm already on folic acid and having accupuncture!)??

Bella - thats strange that your FS doen't believe in timed BD mine hasn't mentioned that at this stage that is weird!!!! I haven't got him on zinc tablets but I am thinking about putting him on them now you mention it hehe!!! I think you have pulled all the right stops so far lets hope this clomid works for you :)

I don't know that for 100% sure - someone else in here (can't remember who!!) has the same FS as me and told me that? My FS has only breifly mentioned that we will move onto injections but he said "hopefully that won't be neccessary - we will cross that bridge IF we have to!!"

Hello everyone, sorry been a bit busy, but yes Bella I'm at 5DPO, and not tearing hair yet, although frustrated cos after bragging last week about how I've not had a cold or a cough for over 2 years....something started yesterday at lunchtime and by the time I finished work at 1.30am, I was rough. Called in sick for tonight, but it's sore throat, ears, jaw/teeth and body aches with a muzzy head. :(

Does anyone know if being sick can affect what may hopefully:pray: be happening 'in there' during this 2ww??

Ironically I've never taken so many vitamins or eaten so healthily as I have done in recent months!!!

In addition, my DH has been on zinc tablets for months and has recently upped his intake after reading a fertility book. We both get acupuncture (although only mine's been for fertility) and my acupuncturist has given my fish oil tablets to take and when I finish my Blackwells folic acid tablets she's going to give me some that are 'stronger'.

By the way did anyone see on the news the lady in Darwin who just had a healthy baby that was actually an ectopic pregnancy???? Noone knew till they went to do a c-section....thought they'd see it on ultrasound, but gives hope to us all.:hug:

This month I started charting temp also on FF. Fantastic website, and between that, and OPKs and my HSG this month I've tried to be as positive as possible.

We are in the TWW girls!!

The regime:
CD2-6 - 100mg Clomid
CD7-11 - 75iu Puregon (FSH Injectable)
CD12 AM - Scan & bloods (two follicles, no LH surge)
CD12 PM - Trigger HCG 5000iu
CD14 - IUI
CD17 - Booster HCG 3000iu

Its CD15 today. I may or may not have done an extra click on the puregon pen a couple of times (80iu) when no one was looking to see if she'd get an extra egg, my bad??

Well those extra couple of clicks of the Puregon pen worked!! Kim had two huge perfectly round follicles, one on each side. One was 21.3 and the other was 20.6.

Our doc apologized as she had a little bit of trauma to the cervix during the IUI this time. Never happened before. She lightly spotted on the day, but it stopped by that evening. Any how she was in agony before the IUI, sure sign of immenent ovulation, so we think we hit the nail on the head. With double the chances.

Kim mostly gets two follicles. But normally both on the same side so they aren't perfectly round and sort of squished up against each other. But the last time she had one on both sides she got pregnant!!! We think its a good omen anyhow. Now for the TWW. Thank you guys for all your crossed fingers and toes. We are pretty hopeful this time

bella I had no symptoms either (except my illness!), till yesterday when I got a stitch down low on my left only..esp when I bent over. I remember having it last month and that ended in AF arriving on my doorstep:(, . I also had 2 bouts of sudden nausea at work last night. I'd eaten enough during the day, (although my appetite had diminished from its usual ravenous self!). The second one lasted all the way home, and I had some toast before bed. Temp. still rising, highest since ovulating...except when I was sick. Oh plse, plse, plse, plse......:pray::pray::pray:

Got acupuncture session tomorrow, but even DH is getting excited...and has asked a few times 'when will we do the HPT?' bless him.:hug:

I felt better about getting that 24hour bug when I read that pregnant women's immune system is suppressed so that the body doesn't reject the embryo, and thus they're more susceptible to picking up colds, bugs etc

I am off for my progesterone level blood test today and hoping for a big number. I am 7dpo today and im feeling pregnant... i hope im not jinxing myself!

Sounds like there are some promising things happening!!

I have now finished my first round of clomid and so I will HOPEFULLY ovulate in the next couple of days :pray: I can't say a course of clomid has been the most fun thing I've ever done, but I think I've got off likely so far with the side effects - touch wood!!

Me - I have my folicle scan tomorrow and I'm scared. I don't know why, I'm just finding TTC a bit tough at the moment :(

Hello to everyone else I haven't met yet and good luck to one and all :hello:

Just stopping in with my scan news. I have 4 follicles, 1 of which is doing particularly well. My FS kept going back to look at it and saying things like 'wow' and 'oh my God!'. He said they should grow 2mm a day until I O (probably this Sunday).

He said the clomid is definitely working for me and he is happy with my progersterone levels as well. He also said my uterine lining is good so that's a relief. I guess now we just have to BD like crazy and hope this is our month :cheer:

My progesterone level was 90!!! I was so shocked cos when i fell pregnant last time it was only 30! so im still trying to keep optimistic even though all my symptoms have disappeared :(

well I had a bummer of a day when I had my acupuncture session. The acupuncturist said after taking my pulse that she couldn't feel a 'pregnancy pulse' . It was the first negative thing that had happened all month, and Dh and I were a bit down. I got some chinese herbs in tablet form also.

After posting on another forum I was advised to not take much notice of her as it was way too early to tell, normally from about 4 months. (it was CD26 and 8DPO.)

Anyway, I've had more nausea...DH made thai fish cakes last night...and I felt so bad for him cos I kept gagging and had to leave them and only eat the vegies. Then I had issues with the carrot on my plate :rolleyes:, telling him it tasted sooo strong! wierd.

My temp. has dipped slightly this morning (10DPO), so we did an HPT ....:doh: I know, I know...too early...and it was :bfn:

Oh well last months cycle was 28 days and today's CD28 so we'll see.

Hi everyone, i just heard about this thread from LouLou..thanks :D so decided to drop in and say hi and hopefully be able to share some wonderful clomid stories!!! i'm not sure what to expect yet so bring it on!!!!!! i'm taking my first tablet of clomid tonight...1 tablet, 50 mg a day to start and then see how that works!!! fingers crossed!!!! can anyone tell me whats the worst i could be in for in terms of side effects???

Mabello - 90?! OMG! That's the highest I've ever heard of. Great news :) Sorry about the BFN but hopefully that's just because you tested early

Airline - sorry about your BFN too. Let's hope the results change for you very soon as well.

Dotty - glad you found this thread. How are you feeling? I get mild crampings from clomid and my first round gave me mood swings (but I may have had them anyway as I was very stressed about TTC so it's hard to tell). Good luck - I hope it does it's job. You're having a progesterone test at CD21-23 as well?

welcome dotty...the worst you should experience would be bad headaches and hot flushes. I dont think the side effects of clomid are too bad tbh.

I'm just sneaking in to say hi, introduce myself and ask a quick question.
Here is a quick update of my TTC history.
-TTC for 12 months.
-Had my first round of 50mg clomid in April this year.
-Ist round worked and I got BFP at the end of April.
-Early may found out it was ectopic and had lapo. to remove left tube.
-June:)- just starting spotting so I suspect AF will be here in a couple of days.

Question is: Do I take clomid this month on day 5 (as I did previously) or wait another month til after I have an HSG scan to check that my right tube is blocked. My head says wait and my heart says give the clomid a go!

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Surely the clomid can't hurt?? Right??

Mabello - I hope the vomitting is a good sign :pray: As for the hot flushes, I've been getting loads of them. I wondered if that was the clomid.

Sandy - I would ring and check with your FS to be sure, they should be able to give you an answer. Good luck :hug:

Well temp. dropped again from 36.81 to 36.75...still above cover line though. :pray:
I've had cramping last night, but nothing overnight or this morning. I'm preparing myself for the worst...but there's always that wee glimmer of hope that keeps me going. Feeling very energetic considering so going to put it to good use. Just walked my furbaby for an hour now I'll clean my floors.:redface:

Hi Dotty, on 50mcg I had some headaches and insomnia. On the first round of 100mcg I had a personality transplant which was horrible, but the next two just headaches. Good luck and .:welcome:

Thanks LouLou. With the long weekend and Tuesday is his Surgery day, I don't know if I will be able to contact him before CD5. I will give it a try though.

Lou Lou- ive just had a bit of a headache and slight anxiety at night so far!! we'll see how it goes! i have to go back on wednesday already for another blood test (so after just having finished my first round!?!) they said they will let me know after that what happens next??

Would love to join this forum as i have just finished my first round of clomid 7 days ago.The docs orders were day 3-7 and the BD frm day 12-18.I didn't get many side effects other than hot flushes and a few headaches so i was lucky!I am on diabex instead of metformin as it made me sick.

Dh and i have been trying for 2.5yrs and are slowly coming to the conclusion that we might not have kids.All my friends and the girls at work have kids so they don't really understand what we are going through. Gee I sound depressing! But on the upside i have 2.5 wonderful furkids 2 dogs and a cat that thinks she's a dog who are my world and my wonderful hubby who will be 40 next weekend.We have alot of plans either way the penny drops!

So for the girls out there that have been on clomid before how many sucess stories are there? My FS wants a blood test on day 21 which is next friday..would they also be able to tell that soon if you got lucky?

hey babymonster, and welcome! Blood test on day 21 records your level of progesterone which will indicate whether or not you have ovulated. A figure of over approx 20 will indicate ovulation. A high figure MAY also indicate early conception, but is not always guaranteed.

I fell pregnant on my 5th clomid cycle last time, so it really is a wonderful thing. I never ovulate without it and always do when i take it!

Please don't give up. I was trying for over 2 years. I started trying in 06 started Clomid in Feb 07 it took a couple of cycles to get the right dose then another couple on the right dose to get pgt all up a year, or 8 cycles of clomid. Then got pgt yeah!!!!! had a m/c boo!!!!! then had another two rounds on clomid. Thats 10 all up. and here i am 6 weeks and 6 days pgt, terrified and excited all at the same time.
I ovulate about once a year witout clomid, and that is after a really long cycle. the longest so far is about 111 days. My FS said it wasn't a viable O because the build up was to long. I found it really good charting and watching my temp. my base temp is usually around 35.6 and after O it is around 36. This is way to cold to and the main reason why things weren't holding. So i've done everything i can to raise my body temp. lots of thermals and heaters. now it is about 36.8 which good for is baby incubation. If i hadn't found that out then I wouldn't have ever held on to lil seed.

Everyone here, has and is going through the same place of wondering, wishing and hoping. It is a fantastic place to share your dreams, worries and ask questions. The ladies are always supportive, and I found that the stories are all so varied that everything is normal and regardless the support and understanding is fantstic. It is reasuring to know we aren't alone.
