Debbie, it was Michelle that increased her dose on her own, and I asked her about it because I was going to do the same but never ended up doing it. My gyno wanted me to stay on 50mg because my prog. levels were good that cycle, my FS increased me straight away to 100mg. I asked him if it was risky to do so (thinking about OHSS) and he said "No, i always start on 100mg" so I think it depends on the Dr.
When I was discussing a dose increase with my gynae, he told me a story about a patient that had twins on clomid - it wasn't until they were 12yo that she admitted to him that she went home and took the WHOLE PACKET!!!!!
