Like BG said, I had very high P4 levels. In fact my P4 levels at 13dpo was 1000+. I dropped from 3 pessaries to one pessary and at 16dpo it was still 960+ . I stopped all pessaries at that point (on my Dr's orders of course) and yet my levels stayed well over 500 for weeks after.
I asked my Dr to explain it and he basically said that if you're good at producing P4 all on your own, then the P4 supplements are unneccessarily increasing your levels. It can make you incredibly bloated (I was! In fact I looked over 6 months pregnant at 4 weeks) and can cause cramping and pain, but it's not dangerous, and no it doesn't necessarily mean it's multiples either. Like BG said, mine was definitely a singleton pg, and in fact my HCG was a little on the low side. Not that that mattered in the end, because as a result of that pg, I now have a beautiful 2 and half year old son.
