I considered cutting back, and I had a huge vent a while ago about how my work reacted when I told them I needed time off to do IVF, basically their view was it was not a medical procedure but a "personal aspiration".
I look at it now from a different point of view, I figure that the money is good and it keeps me occupied although on some days I am completely stressed out. DH and I have put a baby savings budget into place and I am coasting along one day at a time and saving all the money I make for further IVF and when our baby finally makes an appearance.
For our treatments etc I just tell them when I need an appointment. I am having my pickup tomorrow so I have arranged to have Mon to Wed off without pay and this seems to keep them happy (I am out of sick leave at the moment anyway).
I must admit I am changing a bit with my tolerance to prg women. There are three in my department expecting and another 4 or so at work as well. All my friends have had babies this year and I must admit I have gone from a place where I was really angry at the world to being genuinely and really happy for them. They have all had such beautiful babies and I can't help falling in love with them all...I think I am a bit soft in the head LOL
My only advice would be to really tread carefully if you think about telling work about your circumstances, while some bosses are understanding, not all are...believe me.
Best of luck with your treatment.
Ps I work very close to my clinic so it's easy to get an early morning appointment and I have been late to work once in the whole of my treatment, they usually see me at 7am or at lunch time so it's really convenient
