What about something like Macca's? I know it seems like its only for teens but DD works there as a casual and there are quite a number of mums who work during the day or night shift. They seem to treat their staff fairly well.
I think call centres are a good idea too, although not ones selling things LOL that would be depressing gettting hung up on all the time!
I would avoid pubs, service stations as well too scary. What about waitressing or kitchen work? Nursing home as an aide?
DH works for Aus.Post and the night sorters get quite good money but as you say the times are wrong for you.
