How about wrap them in banana leaves and steam them instead?

I do them Portuguese style... pour a couple of cans crushed Toms, or a bottle of passata in to a frypan with a lid, lay slices of lemon over the top, put the Basa on top then more slices of lemon, (no stirring) put the lid on and put over a gentle heat till the fish is steamed. Serve the fish and spoon some of the lemony tomato over the top.

You could bake them wrapped in baking paper instead of foil, if you can't find banana leaves.

Or sprinkle with any kind of spice mix (morroccan, cajan, etc) or just s+p, and either pan-fry in a little butter, or microwave.
