I use the Donna Hay recipe - it's 2 slices of wholemeal bread soaked in milk for 5 minutes, then torn up and mixed together with 500g mince, garlic, onions, and egg. I also add in some grated carrot and zucchini, grated cheese and some Italian herbs. It's a good recipe to use if you don't have any breadcrumbs. Bake in the oven on 200 for 20 minutes then pour over either a tin of chopped tomatoes or a pasta sauce jar and cook for another 15 minutes, or until sauce is heated through.
We either have it with pasta or both the boys love it with mashed potato. It's a good way of getting some *hidden* veggies into them as well! It is one of my favourite, easy meals to make. I also sometimes just double the quantaties to make a double batch and freeze half. Great for 'can't be bothered' nights!
