Re: The Cause and Cure of Morning Sickness

I'm sure this long suffering woman truly believes she has found the cure, but I'm sorry it takes more than 1 single pregnancy to prove a 'cure' is effective. Colloidal silver has been known to have ill effects at 1 dose a day, 3 a day is a pretty serious thing to do to your body!
Either way for me personally I've got 6 weeks to go in my last pregnancy so I'm going to stick to throwing up occasionally until this one comes out

Thanks for the responses and advice ladies. I'll look more into the silver safety. I was already wary of taking it when pregnant or breastfeeding.

As for the fermented veggies tho, I'm happy to eat those if it takes the edge off the nausea!

I would personally give the fermented veggies a try over supplements. I was a metals chemist back in the day and it is not something I would chose to eat. I always have an internal shudder when I hear of people taking high dose chromium supplements too. However, each to their own and their is insufficient evidence of low level consumption doing harm. Conversely there is very little decent literature showing it does any good either. To me it wouldn't be worth the risk of trying it out during pregnancy with no studies detailing the effect on the developing child.

Awww Sagres. I didn't know you were pregnant! Congratulations!!! I'm sorry HG found you again though. I know how hard it is especially with others to care for. 6 weeks and counting for you

Thanks! I was kind of hoping it wouldn't be as bad this time but honestly it has been the worst! Women in DHs family have had similar issues (so I kind of wonder if there is something in his genetics that my body is reacting against?) and it seems to have got less severe with each baby for them, so I though it could be OKish but no
Yes doing it with 2 little kids has been really really hard, and now with one at school I'm not sure which is worse, having her home during the day and me not being able to do stuff with her or having to fit throwing up into the before school schedule LOL! I was late picking her up on her second day because I was throwing up, I felt so bad.
Need to just keep swimming for a bit longer and then I'm NEVER EVER going to be pregnant again. I think that might be part of my birth announcement, "Sagres and DH have welcomed an X into their family, we are so in love with them already and Sagres never never never has to be pregnant again!" You like it?

Oh 13 weeks, that is a tough time {hugs}.
Every week around then I said to my self, week 13, it was horrible but I never have to have week 13 again, just to try and keep my sanity.

Isn't that just a kick in the guts when you hope beyond hope all will be ok and bammo, you think you're going to die

Don't beat yourself up about being late. Better that than throw up on the teacher

LOVE the announcement. You know the most twisted thing about pregnancy? Is as much as it terrifies me and makes me feel like I'm dying, that damn biological clock just keeps on ticking!

Hugs to you Joeve! 13 weeks IS awful. I remember being sure it would stop (both times) but knowing in my heart I didn't have a hope in hell.

Oh yeah I've struggled waaaaay more emotionally this time that any other, I think because it kicked in a couple weeks later than it had before and I had got my hopes up too high about it being better. Then crash!
I think it is a testament to how amazing these little possums are that we would voluntarily do this more that once to be able to have more of them in our lives. And a testament to how amazingly strong women are....I am women, hear me technicolour yawn!
