    Slipped Disc

    Heya
    I need a cuddle today

Im in a fair bit of pain. I think I have slipped a disc in my back
and this isnt the first time this has happened !
last time I felt the pain was more pain in the tail bone, but now its abit higher up in the lower back region...
I was at a gathering today and my Daughter needed a tucking in of her chair to the table and as I bet downt to slide the chair in, it wouldnt budge, so I tried lifting it a little and then I felt like a seperating sensation in my lowr back. There was a bit of an ouch cried and a hand on back move, and then 3 other ladies came to my aid. IT took me a few mins to get out of the pose i was in..
my back is so sore , and every time i move I grimace. I am currently stationed to the couch. I hope the pain eases soon!
Apart from DEncorub, is there anything else I can do/use to help?

silly me, I should be askin' the blokes to do that kinda work for me!
    Thanks for reading lovies

Hi hun, back pain is horrible. There is a tablet that voltaren make (not sure if you can have when pregnant though). Maybe a heat pack would be good, even just trying the shower and letting the hot water run over it if you can stand for that long???

I am so sorry to hear this and want to give you a big that isnt painful.

Just be very careful if you go off to see a chiro. If the pain doesnt go away then I suggest you see a proper back doctor. My DP had a slipped disc and saw a chiro and then because of the chiro visit he ended up with a herniated disc in his lower back. This then cost us $13000 for an operation (he wasnt in a PH fund and was dying of pain that he couldnt wait for the public system).

He just said that if you have got pain going down one of your legs than you need to go see a specialist. He also said that heat packs helped (along with the panadeine forte)! Its such a pain that we cant take pain meds when pregnant!

Aw Thanks Ali! For the reply

Thats really kind. Today has been alot better for my back. I slept really well last night and didnt move around much to disturb it. Ive just been keeping it up with the heatpack and the glucosomine gel I found in the bathroom and thats been working a treat!

I just have to be more careful in the future and I think I have to stop thinking that I'm some super strong hero! ...

I havent really had any other physical pains in this pregnancy apart from the odd cramp or 2 so I hope this sees the end of it. wishful thinking?
Hope YOUR Sunday was a nice one

So good to hear that it has improved today. Keep that heat pack on and the gel and remember if you arent 100% ring your boss and tell him you cant come in. Im sure he would rather you recover thatn him have a workers comp case on his hands.

I remember when I picked up a box once without using my legs (just used my back muscles) it wasnt until the next day that the pain really set in and I have never lifted something I cant handle since. The pain was too much of a reminder.

I had a nice Sunday, just stayed at home and had a bbq lunch with DP. Hope you had a good one as well. Take it easy hun and hope that you continue getting better. x
