You know my story and yes the GD did go away and I think I was in the same boat as you, petrified of having the test again... It was a huge weight off my mind knowing it was gone as it was constantly plaguing my thoughts..
Go and get your referral, your GP can give you one and get it over and done with so you can relax.
As Artichem said, most people who still have it after birth, were undiagnosed prior to getting pregnant. I had the benefit of my GP having checked my BSL during my preconception blood work and it was normal then. I also did some random BSL's both in hospital as requested and afterwards after ice-cream and some other stuff and again normal range.

P.S. Found out yesterday that my cousin had GD with her 1st baby but didn't get it with the 2nd!!!! Made me feel better about potentially having a 2nd BB and trying my damn hardest to keep the GD at bay!!! It is the biggest thing turning me off potentially having another baby..
