I attended the FMU at TCH for both my pregnancies. I am still not sure why I was referred for my 1st pregnancy except that I wa overweight. My first baby died at 41 weeks despite the "special" care I got at the FMU. The staff were wonderful. I was offered induction at 40 weeks with my daughter and asked to take a few more days.....this unfortunately was supported and my baby died.
For my 2nd pregnancy the staff were again wonderful and tracked everything well. The midwife was highly supportive of our wish for an early induction and also worked with me to try and keep intervention at lowest possible with this choice. I ended up with an emergency C/S.
I can't do anything except highly reccommend the FMU. The staff are great and understand people who are stressed.

Thanks Kateo for sharing your story. I am so sorry to hear that your first baby died
Did you see OBs or midwives at the FMU? Or a combination of both?

A quick bump for those who promised to be back - when you get a chance I'd love to hear your story. I am finding myself more anxious about both the appointment and process and also my DD's condition as the time nears - appointment is on Tuesday.
