I had a follow through who had graves disease and needed to see MFM quite regularly to monitor the babe.

This was her 2nd bub so she was a tad use to it all and she went onto birth the babe vaginally.

In my observation the appointments where a way of monitoring the baby closely. Ultrasounds were a regularity and it's usually a specialist appointment rather than an OB or MW app.

I do think that part of you needs to be ready for things to change quite quickly at one of these appointments. Meaning if at an appointment they discover something serious it may be that they decide that baby needs to be born ASAP.
