ugh ... it just tastes like vomiting iron pills ... which also isn't fun ...

at least when I throw up liquid iron, it's not red, so I'm not worried that I'm actually vomiting blood!!

I cant tolerate any form of oral iron either so i would have an iron infusion if my iron levels were low enough to warrant it. It involves a day in hospital and 8 hrs of having it slowing infused but once its done you are right then normally and dont tend to need anything else or another one. I recommend trying the other suggestions first though, but if these dont work, talk to your OB about an iron infusion or injections weekly, cos you can have those too.

I take Florvital or Floradix (can't remember which one - the one with no yeast anyway) and I don't think tastes too bad at all - just a bit like prunes or prune juice really. I don't mix it just straight from the measuring cup (I have been known to swig out the bottle - but it does say not to do that on the label)

I can't swallow pills and floradix makes me nauseas so my midwifes gave me iron shots. They were coming a couple of times a week to give me a jab in the bum. I still have big black marks on my arse cheeks that look like bruises. They lasted for nearly two years after the shots when I had them with DD1, am waiting to see how long they last this time. They didn't really hurt any more than you would expect from a big needle poked into your tender cheeks

Floravital is the one without yeast.
