I never gained any weight in the first half of my twin pregnancy, and I was similarly concerned but, as my OB put it, "babies are parasites, they'll get what they need". Lovely image but anyway the point is, your baby will be fine as long as you are eating and drinking. Weight loss in pregnancy is only discouraged due to the fear of women going on crazy diets when their babies are developing AFAIK.
Don't worry. Not sure what it is in pounds, but from prepreg weight with my DD2 I only put on 4kgs through the whole thing (she was born 8lb 9oz!) & so far I've only put on 2kgs this pregnancy.
Both because of the amount of weight I lost in the first few months from m/s.
