Placenta previa complete with accreta

Thank you all so much for your replies. I had an emergency c-section with my DS in 2006, the accreta has attached to the scar tissue. I have an appointment on the 25th of this month to discuss my condition with another Dr.
The doctor I'm under now has had experience with these complications before(thank god!) I'll be making it clear that I want every attempt made to save my uterus. If it comes down to it of course I realise it's more important to be around to look after my beautiful kids. It's just a lot to get my head around and I want to be as well informed as possible going into this.

how scary for you!! i second the second opinion on the hysterectomy!

i had a grade 4 previa. scariest thing ever i had to deal with. i went thru almost every emotion you could go thru from 20 weeks until i had my son at 34 weeks. it is scary. i suggest you try and stay away from google tho. does more harm then good! just take it easy and follow the advice from your ob! good luck. feel free to pm me if you want to know anything further or talk some more xx

Hey ladies I'm back!
I'm now 27 weeks and am currently on HBR I will stay in hospital now until bubba is born. After 10 days of constant spotting and a light bleed plus lots of "tightenings" my OB decided this was the best course of action. (probably doesn't help that we live 2+ hrs away from the nearest hospital that could deal with this situation).
So I've spoken at length with 2 highly respected OB's and expressed my wishes to keep my uterus and they are now contemplating leaving the placenta untouched and letting it reabsorb itself.
As far as how preemie she will be they aren't willing to let me go any longer then 34 weeks, all depends on how much I bleed in the meantime.

can i ask why they wont let you go past 34 weeks? a lot of people with previa's and accreta's can go to 37-39 weeks with nil issues.

What a sucky position to be in, I'm so sorry! Hopefully the hysterectomy Is not needed and you come out of it all ok.

Now the accreta has progressed to percreta and also taking into consideration how many epileptic seizures I've had this pregnancy, they would rather deliver early then risk any more harm to me or the baby. Also this way they hope to avoid a really severe hemorrhage.
