    Swollen ankles is it normal

    Hi all,
This morning i noticed that my ankles are very swollen. I'm not sure if i should get this checked or if its just a normal symptom.
My fingers arent swollen and my rings are still fitting. I havent had headaches or blurred vision.
Ive spent the afternoon resting and have had a 3 hour sleep but it has made no difference to my ankles.
My next appointment is on Tuesday.

Definitely keep an eye on it and let your dr know on Tuesday. I get swelling in my ankles/feet, but not often in my hands.
It's also best to keep an eye on how you're feeling in general. Like you mentioned about the blurred vision. If you start feeling really off, or are worried at all, see your gp earlier.

It's normal. I've been getting swelling in one foot/ankle on and off for a while now. My OB says it is very normal to just get swelling in your feet and ankles without it being anywhere else. Mine is a little more unusual because it's just one foot, but again he said it can be normal or it can be due to a clot. Any pain in the calves associated with swelling of feet/ankles needs to be investigated.

I was told to lie down at the end of the day and raise my feet above my head and massage the fluid downwards towards my knee. I find that the fluid usually goes down over night but returns the next day. I do have days when I have no fluid at all.

    Hi Tan
This is quite common and is not a problem unless you have other symptoms like blurred vision, spots in front of your eyes for more than a few minutes, swelling of your face. When siting/laying down try exercising your feet amd toes. Also putting your feet higher than you head can help.

    Thanks guys,
I got my midwife to check it out at my last visit and she said it was just normal.
