If you would like to try a home remedy to ease pain soak a chux cloth (a non-detergent one) in caster oil. Fold a large piece of glad wrap into a rectangle large enough to cover you lower abdomen and put some tape around the outer edges. Place the cloth over your lower abdomen and than put the plastic over the top to seal in any leaks. You can than cover it with hand towel or something and pop a singlet over the top. Wear it for 3 nights on, 3 nights off than 3 night on again. It's comforting to put a hot water bottle onto but in this hot water I wouldn't bother. Hope you feel better soon
Yes, i did end up going to the hossie yesterday morning.
I did a urine test and it came up positive, so i had a UTI. I had no UTI symptoms whatsoever. No burning, difficulty passing urine etc.. I should know about UTI's as i suffered a heck of alot and then ended up having surgery because of it. I was amazed as was the drs. The lower back pain which i was having was due to my kidneys (or so they think). The sharp shooting pains in my appendix region was being generated by my bladder (again, so they think). They gave me some morphine to ease the back pain and some antibiotics via a drip. I was good to go a few hours later. I still get the sharp shooting pains, and have lower back pain. They said it could be the onset of appendicitis but weren't too sure.
Thanks for all your advice ladies and sharing your stories. Greatly appreciated.
Good!! I am so happy you went in and got checked out! I have had a kidney infection before and the back pain really sucks, I couldn't get comfortable at all Just drank lots and lot of water and there was something else that helped but I can't remember for the life of me what it was.
Hopefully you will be over it very soon and back to yourself again!!
