Hun I've had two taken off - two when I was a teen and two just recently. The two recently were low down on my tummy and on my shoulder.
I had them both done at the same time, by my GP. She did a local, which stung, then I felt nothing apart from some weird pushing and pressure which I guess was the removal, then the tugging as she stitched.
I did need a bit of panadol after but I was bf too - it was just after DS was born - and nothing happened in the milk department
My shoulder hurt more because of where/what it is - higher use area, less fatty tissue so more pain.
I am a bit of a sook - apparently I can birth an almost 11lb baby without pain relief but I get teary with a local sting
It really is just a quick sting and it's done. Like an immunization.
Hope that helps. You're doing a good thing.
