Just been diagnosed with a BCC.....

Ive had this lumpy looking thing on my chest for ages...months, years, dunno. Whenever driving it used to hurt - seat belt across my chest and the sun blaring on it. Got a full check out on Monday.....he took a swab, said it looks like a surface cancer...had a little cry in the car on the way home....just got a call today - its a BCC - Basal Cell Carcinoma....i know its not that serious.....its very common. Just freaks me out a little.

Im not a sun person. Rarely go out in the sun...and if i do i have a hat on. I know its from driving......hanging out washing...etc etc. So, so simple to get....scary to remove....Really hits home how precious our lives are etc etc.....

1o mins apparently....in and out. Eek....rather give labour than go thru the cutting and stitches and stuff....got a weak stomach when it comes to that.....its so close to my face too.....like i cant escape the Dr with a knife in his hand.... THink i will need to take a blankie so i can bury my face or something....

Oh no . Good on you for getting it checked out though, it's always best to be on the safe side.

When are you getting it removed? I hope it all goes well.

So glad you got it found and getting it out though.

You're right, stuff like this is a reality check.....off to hound DH into going and getting his checked.

I have had a number of suspicious little things removed, it is really easy surgery, and heals very quickly. But glad that it has been caught in time. Hope it goes well

MBear, I work with a Dermatology list very regularly and am happy to talk you through what will happen. It really is very quick and simple. And depending on where on your body it is, your face will probably be covered with a sterile drape anyway. Feel free to ask any Q's.
