    Migraine help.

I think I am developing a migraine. I have had one migraine in my life so far, I posted about it here I think. Was well before DD. Was the worst pain, I couldn't see, couldn't hear, seeing white spots, light and even the sound of my breathing hurt my skin (itms). Today I woke up feeling sore, stiff, bad headache, rotten. Feel nauseous too. Now I'm getting the same things I got before my migraine, dizzy, white spots in vision, hearing sounds fuzzy. What should I do? I have very active DD to care for now. It's taken me 20 mins to type this, I'm hurting so much. What can I do?

I'm sorry you're in so much pain hun Is it pg related do you think? One thing I can recommend is maybe some acu? It really sucks as you have to look after a toddler, you could try some panadeine forte but that will make you really drowsy... hopefully it will go away soon, migranes really suck.

For me heat works so in the early stages I have a very hot shower with the water on my head (don't do this though if its already fullblown). If iots progressed more then I use hot towels. A friend does the same but he needs cold not heat.

Put a dvd on for Isla and then you set up camp iin the next room so you can hear her but you don't get the flashes from the tv. Drink water if you can, keep the room as dark as you can and close your eyes. Hard when you're pregnant but take a couple of panadol or panadol forte if you have them. Take care and I hope it passes quickly

DD is napping thankfully, I'm typing this in the dark, on my phone with my eyes closed because the pain is absolutely searing. Debating getting DH home. We've tried a number of times to get into a local doctor, nobody is taking new patients and our old clinic is a two hour round trip (don't drive). Think There are some drop in clinics close by, might try that. But right now I can't think of doing anything but keeping my eyes shut and hoping DD stays sleeping. Tried to cry but that hurt too much too.

Can you get someone to watch your DD for a few hours? Just so you can get some sleep? Hugs. Migraines aren't nice at all! Hope it goes away soon.

Can you call someone to watch FF so you can go curl up in a ball in bed? And maybe they can grab some 'Mersyndol' from a chemist on the way!? I get migraines fairly regularly & while I don't like taking painkillers especially when bf it is the ONLY thing that has worked for me! It's got paracetamol & codine which is fine for pg but also an antihistamine which i guess u have to decide if its worth taking as a once of while pg. FWIW the Dr did recommend to me a few months ago & I asked about pg she said its 'ok' not ideal tho HTH and its gone soon!!

I threw up, not feeling great at all, can hardly see or hear through the pain so DH is coming home to let me rest. Not sure about doctors yet. Thanks guys.

Hope you can get into the doctors soon.

    How far along are you?

It would probably be wise to get your Dr to check blood pressure. Could be a sign of something maybe? Try to relax until you get there. Hugs.

PZ, because you're pg, please GO TO THE DOCTOR! Or emergency if there are no doctors you can get in to see today, maybe the maternity ward or call the ward/your midwife to see what they recommend.

Hope you are ok love. I got heaps of migraines when pregnant, it got to the stage that I knew one was about to come, my vision would go a little bit funny and I could take 2 panadol straight away and lie down with my face pressed really hard into a mattress. Took about 45 minutes to go away, but I never got a full blown one like I was before I started doing that.

They suck though, so I hope you feel better soon xx

PZ - you might need an ED hun. Not a GP. Fluids, pain relief, on IV.

Hope you are getting some help. I've only had two migraines in my life and they were horrible.

I hope you went to get some help PZ and are now feeling much better. Migranes are horrible but visual disturbance whilst pregnant shouldn't be ignored

I get these. Loss of all vision, loss of feelings in hands and feet, vomitting, intense pain behind eyes. Haven't got one in a long time, but I did get them during the first half of pregnancy, and stress related. I usually get around 5 a year.

The only thing I could do was lie completely still in a completely black room.

Andrew has just had a stress related migraine where he was throwing up. He had hydrolyte while the vomiting was happening and when that subsided he had Mersyndol, and was feeling a lot better within 30 mins.

Went to the GP once DH got home, just a walk in. Was packed and they said the wait would be over an hour, so we went to the local hospital which wasn't too far from the walk in (which wasn't too close to home...trains and migraines are awful). They checked me out, I'd been drinking loads of water and some powerade so wasn't dehydrated, but was having a lot of trouble seeing. Didn't have IV but was given painkillers. I ended up getting a taxi home while DH and DD got the train. Have been lying very still since. It's subsided to what I'd call a very bad headache now, but it's manageable. So scary. My BP was fine, first thing the checked. Can't believe the level of pain I was in, total searing, blinding pain. Thanks so much for all your help. I hope I never experience that again!
