Delivered meals aren't really an option. She is beyond what I would normally term fussy, so trying to organise anything like that would be a waste of everyone's time and effort as she just wouldn't eat
Was told to organise dietician through her gp cos the dietician wouldn't come in on the weekend. The fact I asked for assistance from allied health on the Tuesday after mum was re admitted doesn't seem to have been taken into account...
I made sure she had enough salad foods to get her through til tonight. May have to go shopping after work and drive over to deliver them after I knock off
What sort of follow up shoulda she be getting here? Mum is on a disability pension. Her treating doctor I hospital sent a letter to her gp (which took well over a week to arrive - AFTER the follow up appt we were told to make). Said mum needs a specialised MRI - if gp refers, it's $300+, no Medicare rebate AT ALL. If specialist refers it's bulk billed! She has had blood tests which show her pancreatic enzymes are still whacky, and the gp wants monthly monitoring. Monthly! What the? Shouldn't it be more regular at least for a while? Mum is going back to go again tomorrow to see if she can arrange referral for test via specialist as they simply can't afford $300 for test and she won't end up having it done...
