Can anyone tell me more about a prolapse? My sister had a hysterectomy 9 weeks ago, and last night had a vaginal prolapse and a bowel prolapse. Which was apparently very painful for her and her new partner (she just hooked up with him) called the ambulance and she had surgery this morning to fix it.

They've stitched the top of her vagina or something, mum wasn't very clear with what information she passed on so I sort of feel in the dark.

Mum helped her at home for 6 weeks after her operation - is this going to be sort of the same recovery time? They've stitched her up so does this mean it will never happen again?

My poor sister has had such a rough trot since last October, first the abnormal pap smear leading to the hysterectomy in the first place, then a break up with a boyfriend after all that stress, and now this happens when hooking up with a new guy!
