Unfortunately this may be an ongoing thing for her. Once you remove the uterus, you remove all the internal support structures for the other pelvic organs. Prolapse of the vagina or the bowel is a common side effect of hysterectomy surgery. They can sew up the top of her vagina pocket and create a support structure, but there is always a risk of it failing again. If I were her, I would really be avoiding sex for several weeks and give it time to fully heal and even then she may need to be cautious in case it happens again.
