Yes I wouldn't be sitting around waiting till next Thursday to be seen. 8 weeks is a long time to be sick, I would be demanding earlier investigation. Also, has whooping cough been ruled out? If it hasn't I'd be seeing a GP asap for a swab. Hope it clears up quickly for you

If you are having to use a lot more of your asthma meds than what would be "normal" for you I would be seeking assistance sooner and not wait the extra week.

For my girls if we have to administer Ventolin 3 hourly or less we need to take them into hospital, and on discharge they have to be able to cope with four hourly and as you are stuggling to meet that you may need extra assistance, they may even do a chest x-ray to see what is happening. Pneumonia is rife this year, I have been blown away by how many little one's and adults I know have had it, we spent 5 days in hospital with DD2 2 weeks ag with Pneumonia, RSV and an UTI!

Take care of yourself and you have fought hard a bit of extra help may help you kick it for good.

Thanks everyone, I've dug out my paper work from all my tests 4 weeks ago and will see someone somewhere tomorrow.

Good advice already, just wanted to add some hugs. Hope you're feeling better soon, 8 weeks of a cough like that would have driven me mad Definitely a good move to go see someone x

I think I met the most useless Dr today

I took myself off to the medical centre this morning, saw some random Dr told him everything that's been going on and that I've been sick since the 7th of June. He listened to my chest and said it sounds clear..ummm I can hear myself wheezing

Basically keep doing what I'm doing and see my normal GP next week but come back if I get worse....

I'm so over this and stupid Dr's!

I hate fricken' doctors I know just how it feels to convince yourself that you NEED to see a doctor, only to have them blow you off

FWIW, I agree with everyone else - you need to go to the hospital. I would be concerned about the effect of using your asthma meds so much. Remember, the longer your lungs are under this stress, the longer it'll take them to heal. Also, the fact that you're coughing-vomiting-choking on vomit scares the heck outta me, I really really REALLY think you need to be in hospital hun

What Keike said. Regardless of what that Dr said I think you need to keep chasing this up, as frustrating as it is. xoxox
