In my experience removing warts physically hurts. I had 27 on my hands as a teenager. Yes 27. They started deforming my nail beds. I tried lots of things but in the end 6 weeks of wart off, changed every day with band aids finally got rid of them. I tried the psychological thing, but tbh I was too young to understand I think (or I was too skeptical). I was about 15.
I would personally wait until your dd wants it removed. I agree there is a psychological component and if she is resistant to removing it I doubt it will go away.
So it's been around 2 weeks of the apple cider vinegar treatment and the wart has changed over time. What do they look like when they die? The inner part is black with a ring of white flesh around it. The skin next to the wart is a little dry/ wrinkled looking. It has flattened out a bit. It looks pretty gross. Can I attach a photo via tapa talk?
It will go black when it's dying & then it will just randomly fall off.
When ours turned black i gave it a full day & night of apple cider and then just left it alone till it fell off, the 1st time we did it i stopped after it went black, it fell off but it came back. The 2nd time we gave it the day & night and it' hasn't come back yet.
Omg, it just fell off. Took a good 3 weeks of the vinegar stuff!! There is still a bit there that looks like it could grow back so gonna continue the vinegar for another couple of nights. I never expected it to work!!
2cheekymonkeys did you keep the warts covered when you weren't using the apple cider vinegar? I think we are about to try this method as our little one has a few quite big ones on their hands and feet, one starting to impose on their nail The wart remover from the chemist hasn't been great.
I think I did at first but then as it started to change I left the band aid off more frequently. I think she had it on with cider vinegar over night then off in the morning getting ready for school. Then covered during school with plain band aid and off again after school and on weekends. Make sure you pull off a small piece of cotton wool to soak in the vinegar so that it only covers the wart and not the healthy skin. I made the mistake of using a whole cotton bud and her finger was a white pruned up mess the next morning. Good luck!
By the way, I don't know if I already updated in this thread but after it fell off I kept up the treatment for a while longer but could still see some roots. I didn't want it to grow back so took her to the dr who froze it for a second and it hadn't grown back.
Nope no pain whatsoever. ( the dr freezing it at the end did hurt but cause it was only a bit left they didn't have to do it as long as if it was a big one). Just to warn you, as it starts to work it goes through some pretty gross looking changes. It was never painful though.

It worked. I mean one fell off a week or so ago and I just thought, 'oh yes... goodo'. Tonight I went to apply the vinegar to a huge one on his toe and its gone!! I have no idea when it fell off, apart from sometime today, but oh my!!! I was so skeptical and thought, oh well, can't hurt to try and its working!
He was so happy when he saw his toe, he said to me 'mummy look, one of my wishes came true'. He told me before we started that he wished he didn't have warts any more. We're on the way to making that wish come completely true
