Yep, for sure! DD use to talk to "the man" in her room. Told her Godfather once to be quiet and not disturb him.. He absolutely did not believe...until that happened.
Sometimes it would frighten her, one night I did the same as you, and said something along the lines of if they were going to stay they had to be nice, otherwise could they please leave and stop scaring DD. Every thing was fine after that.
The room is now DS's and he looks and bables at the same corner (though his cot does go into the corner in question) I definately feel a presence when I walk in there, mostly of a night time. It feels like someone is standing behind me, I swear some nights it almost feels like they are leaning right over the cot with me, breathing down my neck..It scares me, but at the same time I get the feeling they are just checking in on family they wish they had the opportunity to hold themselves.. It's a weird feeling to describe..scary but calming all at once. I feel like they are watching to see if I pick him up correctly out of the cot, and his 20 months old!
I saw a figure when pregnant with DD too. Thought it was DH, walking up the hallway. I rolled and put my back to him as I was dirty with him for going out drinking all hours, and when i rolled back he was standing beside the bed, wavering like a drunk... I had a go at DH the next morning for coming home then going back out.... turns out it wasnt him at all
My two stories:
I lived in a 200 year old castle in CZ, with 900 year old foundations, and there was definitely someone sharing my room. Probably plenty of others around in the castle's other 40 rooms, but that was the one I was close to.
Also, driving through Galston Gorge one night we (three of us, although admittedly 18 year olds) saw someone right down the bottom, at the bridge.
I loved the old Ghost tours they did at the Quarantine Station in Sydney.
I just love any ghost stories. I'm a total believer, and I always have been.
I do believe in them but i have never had any experiences. My mum has, and she's a firm believer. i never want to see one as im sure ill crap myself LOL im a big scaredy cat.
yep, I have seen/heard /felt things that I could never rationally explain (though I tried!!) to myself.
I have this deal with "all there is" that Im not ready, so please dont let me see/feel/hear etc, but I get the feeling every now and then that im being "tested" I just close my inner eye and shake my head, I dont want to know!
My mum is a white witch and does house cleansings etc, she has had quite a few "spooky" encounters, in her own house and she hates staying in hotels or motels as there is invariably "something" there and she never gets any sleep!
When I had DS and was in hospital for 5 nights, I felt a few presences around me, looking over my shoulder, watching me with Jacob etc, It freaked me out a little then I told myself it was the drugs! but I have had mum and even FIL say that Ive had visitors and im pretty sure its the grandmas.
Yep I do believe but haven't seen any since exFIL died 9 years ago. Although, the past couple months I have felt something and I think DS sees him because he is always talking to a man. Plus I had a reading done the other day and the lady mentioned it as well without knowing anything but my name.
I catch glimpses around the house sometimes but haven't seen someone straight out.
Another believer here. I am sure that we had some visitors in a flat that I lived in. Pretty sure they were there for my flat mate though. We had some weird things happen.
I am not sure but I am pretty sure DD sometimes sees someone here too. I think I may be reading too much into it but a couple of times in the last few weeks I have heard her walking down the hallway saying good bye to Nannie (which is what she called my mum or what I used to call my nan).
Just after my grandfather passed, like the night of his Wake, i shared a room with my sister. and she said during the night our Pa was talking through me saying thank you for the send of (or something) along the lines of that and also in the corner of the room ( near the roof) were two lights that looked like eyes.. it freaked me out at first but i was alright afterwards...
And at my parents house i swear when i was home alone i could hear footsteps through the house and also the door blows open by itself. we just say come in pa..
Absolutely, My grandfather used to press on my ear lobe (HATE it) to wake me. When He is around I can smell him! When my great grandmother is around I can feel her presence (been a while now) and when my other great grandma is around I can smell a fragrance (lavender type smell) and its SOOOOO strong!! 2 days after my uncle was killed, (i was 13) he sat on the end of my bed and said goodbye. (He was my favourite uncle )
Driving with my grandma one night we were chatting away and i looked up to see a boy in a white shirt i yelled out 'STOP!!!!!!!!' my grandma freaked out at me and goes 'what, whats wrong????' i was like - u didnt see that kid?? my granny was like Um no - are you seeing things?? my cousin in the back also asked the same thing, I looked back and nothing was there (ohhh I got goosebumps now LOL)
When I was around 8 months pregnant, I remember waking, talking to a lady and she asked me if I was ready - I said Yes, she then put her hand on my belly, and next thing I know I woke up a few hrs later saying 'dayum, was that a dream??' I spoke to a friend of mine about it, and she told me DD was a "Gabriel Ray child' which apparantly means she is born for humanitarian reasons (Maz, maybe u can help me out here if Im wrong or if someone else knows what a Gabriel Ray child is)
Maz, you completely freak me out. What do you see around me?!
I belivein ghosts- as any of my blog readers know, I liketo ghost hunt I belive in them more as- energy has to go soemwhere. Sometimes, when people are charged with emotional energy, they leave a 'shadow' of themselves behind, which can be greatly magnified by the enegy of other people or things, especially when strong emtions are again present.
Anyway, I have seen a ghost or two. But, in keeping with my above beliefs, i don't find them all that scary.
I do.. i believe in spirits and ghosts some people think they are the same thing, i am not 100% sure.
I have seen my brother, great grandfather and great grandmother in dreams.. my pop passed on a final msg to me, my brother has shown himself when i am pondering life and my great grandmother seems to like letting me know she is watching over my DD.
I consider them spirits...
GHOSTS are the guy i have previously seen talking to my DD through the window, the 'watcher' i call him and the friendly refuses to show herself but paces my halls when DP is not here.. i think to check up on my girls and I.
The watcher scared the absolute crap out of me, and in the end i had to 'ask' him to either let me know how i could help or to back off and not get so close to DD and to stop watching me when DP was around as it was making me uncomfortable.
He has backed right off, and does not scare me now.
I don't think there is any right or wrong answer, i personally believe in them that doesn't mean that that is what they are or that they even exist.. maybe it's my perception of something else....
ETA - Maz you have a gift my friend... i'd love to know if you get a feeling about me.. or anyone connected to me.
I "see" (not clearly, physically see as that isn't my gift, like Maz has, but my other senses is how I interact with them) those in my family who have passed, on a very regular basis, including the ones that I'd never met. There was a huge contingency at the last family funeral I went to, same as in hospital rooms when a family member is sick (not necessarily dying). They are invited to every major family event, when they don't show up is when you need to see if the event happening should really go ahead or not. In every failed marriage in our family, on the wedding day, 2 "visitors" have attended as a warning, the rest stay away.
As for the ones I go hunting/looking for, they are usually attached to a place or their grave. It is interesting coming in contact with those who have had violent lives/deaths and the energies that they can raise. Sometimes it is so oppressive that you can't breathe. I've had a friend pushed into a creek by one "entity" one night, we have all since learnt to bring spare clothes when going hunting. I love pre-dawn at a cemetery with lots of old graves, watching the spirits return to their homes as the sun rises.
My grandmother taught me, when I was on her knee, that if there is a ghost around that you don't want there, to acknowledge its presence and nicely ask it to go away. Sometimes they do right away, other times they request a bit of help before leaving, either to help them realise that they are dead, or to pass on a message. Or in my case when I was about 4, I got told that this ghost was supposed to be around me for the next few years, which it was and it happily went away when I hit puberty.
I also have spirit guides, totem animals and guardians which aren't part of the ghost contingency around.
Thank you everyone for sharing your stories. I'm sitting here with goosebumps ATM. It's nice to know I'm not the only one. For me, it's really hard to believe what I see and feel as I'm a very logical, practical person normally. I have seen/felt presences since I was a child, often cats (not sure why?) so it is hard to just dismiss or explain away. It's not something I can tell DH as he would just laugh at me. I had originally posted this in a different section as I didn't realise this section was here. If I did, I probably wouldn't have had to ask lol!
Any ideas who the man in DS's room was? I got the impression he was about 40 years old, not overly tall but not short. He was wearing black but also with other colours. DS wasn't in there at the time so I don't think he was there for him.
Back today, while DS is sleeping and the washing is on.
I believe strongly in ghosts, because every year, on my birthday (between the ages of 8 and 14) at 12:26am I would see an apparation/ghost of my nana that I've never met (I'd see her in the same thing all the time) and she would always wish me happy birthday and disappear.
There was another time where my dad and I were talking to each other and (when I was about 18) my dad looked out the corner of his eye and said 'Did you see that?' We both saw a ghost, my dad out the corner of his eye and me, well I looked directly at it.
I strongly believe in them, because I believe that someone that has 'unfinished business' comes back - and even if your not part of that 'Unfinished business', you may bear witness to them.
Edit : Could he have been a relative? One you met or one you didn't?
Sorry if I sound like a nut job
Yep surely do. My Dads ghost follows me to every house I live in. He seems to come out around 4-5am and he's always in the kitchen.
That's the time he used to get up and get ready for work.
Thought of this thread today. I was trying to dress DS & he was screaming, squirming & just generally carrying on as they do. I was in a huge hurry to get organised & was feeling quite exasperated when DS suddenly stopped all the carry on & started giggling & smiling. He was staring up at a spot above my head, I couldn't see anything but it seemed like he certainly could!!
