I feel sick to my stomach. We;ve just signed a contract on our first house and are excited. But after some checking around (a comment the real estate agent left on the youtube video of the house!) it seems there is the ghost of a little boy in our house!!!
What would you make of that or do??
I beleive in the unexplainable, have had a few experiences myself. And it makes me darn uncomfortable!!! I can't even watch 'Ghost Whisperer' without freaking out!!
If you can be calm enough - or maybe even your kids might pick up on it - just need to ask said ghost what it needs or wants or why he's there. Maybe he will be a protector to your family... You never really know without asking.
And there is no certainty that the RE agent has any clue about it anyway. Could be just a complete fabrication.
I am sure many others here will have more advice - but don't panic hunni, its not a bad sign for your house purchase.
If stuff starts happening then panic but otherwise it could be a fabrication. Have you looked into the history of the house at all? somethimes that can help if you know who the child is and what happened.
He could just be lost, or visiting or a protector.
We have had "visitors" here particularly one who makes her presence known to me and my GF who is particularly sensitive.
To be honest it use to freak me out before I found out who it was and why she was here. Now she doesn't visit so much but I always welcome her home when I feel she is here.
There are various stones (crystals) and cleansing methods but I am not sure what and how these work. Others may have some suggestions.
Just try to relax and go with the flow or do your research talk to your neighbours and historical societies if the house is old.
SOmetimes having a visitor can be comforting. Maybe get a cat they are generally good at letting you know if something is there
my mum taught me a trick, fill the house with white light in your head, so that it shines really brightly from the inside out, then NOTHING that means you harm can enter. if the young boy is still there then he means you no harm and is nice. as was sadi above, he could be a protector. find the room he most visits, and sit quietly and ask him to tellyou why hes there, and if you want politely ask him to leave, tell him that our family is there now and its your house. also sorry you have kids? i forgot to look??
make it plain that there is to be no funny business whilst the kids are sleepign only daytime visits. kids are usually very sensitive to people.
We have moved into my DH family home and are the 5th generation to live in this house. There is no way DH will ever move from the house even if our marriage depneded on it.
You have obviously been into the house right? did you feel anything when you were there? probably not because you would have sensed something if something wasn't "right".
When you go into this house now you will be thinking thoughts about ghosts and your imagination can play tricks on you. So in someways you may create feelings of things that may not be there YKWIM? this will then draw to you what you fear because you are putting it out there.
Some of the others may have some suggestions for cleansing the house or if you know anyone you could go seek some advice from a psychic but source a reputable one!
As its a child I doubt very much its here to hurt anyone. Id say he may not realise he is dead . There are a few things you can do, if you trust a physic (SP) speak to them if not get on the net and look into things.
One of my friends lives in a house with a ghost and its all very safe. The ghost doesn't bother them and vise versa. NO WAY could I do that
I have 2 ghosts in my home... I have seen one, he is a guy in his mid twenties with a goatee, and he isn't much taller than me. I saw him about this time of day.
My older son has seen them both, the other is a younger child... not sure if it is male or female... my son saw it's hand come up from under the bed and grabbed a toy whilst he and my younger son were reading a book.... this was also in the day time. My SIL has seen a glowing orb outside my elder DS's room, and she has also seen a child out the corner of her eye.
We have no problems living with them. I have put things down only to have them taken away from me, then I search frantically, come back to where I originally put them and they're back there (usually always my keys but it has been things like the hair brush, DS's sippy cup etc)... I guess I have funny, playful spirits in my home.
I feel relaxed though because they obviously like us otherwise I imagine we would see them more often or we would feel uncomfortable. When my things go missing, I do say out loud "please give xxxx back... I really need it" and I walk away... usually it turns up in a few minutes.
Had I known that there were spirits in my home I would never have moved in... but since being here I know there is nothing to worry about, but I do admit, sometimes I get worried about getting up in the middle of the night to go to the loo or something... it is only on occasion... mostly I don't even think about it.
I hope everything works out fine for you... I'm sure it will :hugs:
I don't see it as an issue. Smudge your house using white sage - say some prayers. The entitiy cannot harm you - as another poster said - fill your home with white light - use clear quartz crystals.
There are entities all around us. We built our home in an old cow paddock. Nobody has ever lived on this land ( perhaps indigenous Australians but not in a house so to speak) and we have a woman that visits - she visits my second youngest daughter. One day driving to take the other kids to school she asked: "who is the lady who comes into my cot and plays with me - she smells nice and has beautiful long hair"... I believe she is my beautiful girl friend who passed thru this world in 2004 the year my 2nd youngest was born... She died of breast cancer... It's nothing to be afraid of. Maybe there is something this entity can teach you - or you her/him... Let go of the fear - cleanse your home - and all will be fine...
We had an old girl living in our (old) house when I was much younger. Apart from the strange noises which we got used to, it was a lovely house with lovely energy. If you're worried, call a pyschic and get some ghost-busting done. If not, declare your boundaries, fill your house with light, it will be ok. xxx
I'm feeling much better about it all today After my little panic attack yesterday
You've all given me such wonderful advice, thankyou.
The way I see it now is I just need to harden up (LOL) and stop being afraid. If it becomes an issue you are all right, I just need to simply ask what it is, and sort out some boundaries. I like the idea of filling the house with light too.
I contacted the Agent who proceeded to laugh at me but assured me she knew nothing of it. I'm not sure if that is the truth or not but I guess we'll see.
Nothing to be done now but look forward to starting life in our own home and see what it brings us.
I just wanted agree with the others, it is hard in our society when most stories involving ghosts are scary ones. I agree with the white light thing & a wait & see attitude, if it is an unpleasant spirit there are things that can be done then, best cross that bridge when you get to it so to speak.
I'm sure everything will be fine hun. I'm sure if there is a little boy he is just confused
I'm feeling that we have one in this house we are renting. Oscar's window always seems to be the target though. Oscar woke up at 4.30am this morning and when I went in to settle him his blinds were wide open It seems to happen once a week and I KNOW that I always close his blinds. Every night I walk into Oscar's room, shut his blinds, then put him into bed and give him a kiss then turn out the light.... I do it every night!! So I am quite sure I'm not getting forgetful... plus it's usually light when Oscar goes to bed so there's no way I wouldn't close the curtains!! I've yet to feel a presence in this house yet but the curtain thing has me intrigued!
Edit- There is no way Oscar can open the blinds either as hit cot isn't close enough to the window!
