    2 Miscarriages at 4.5 weeks

    Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has had two miscarriages in a row at similar gestations (mine were both very early, around 4.5-5 weeks).

    1. Have you had testing or found out a reason?
    2. Have you gone on to have a successful pregnancy?

I have a son, but have lost the last two pregnancies, one in July and one this week. I'm starting to worry and wonder if I should start having some tests done or if I should just accept that they weren't meant to be. I'd love some success stories?

I had two early m/c's before i fell preg. M/C rates are very high, when i tell people i am amazed at the amount of women who have had one. It's something like 1 in 4 pregnancies? My Dr told me that until i had 3 in a row it was considered normal. I have gone on to have two beautiful girls. So try and believe that you are normal and perhaps the next one will be the one.

It always helps me to remind myself that we have m/c for a reason, there is something not right, it's natures way of helping us have healthy babies.
    Hang in there.

    hun.
I've lots three pregnancies in the last three cycles. Two chemical and one early loss at 5w2days. I'm at a point now where I don't really know what to do next. Like JM, I know they happened for a reason and I have two gorgeous children that I am eternally grateful for but I have no idea whether I want to launch a full scale investigation, or just to stop and hope all will be well.
While I wish madly I had a success story for you, I just wanted to offer some support, and let you know you aren't alone in your wondering.

I'm definitely no expert, but it probably doesn't hurt to get yourself checked out JIC? It's possible there is some outstanding issue from your earlier loss or even the birth of your son which could be fixed quite easily?

Thanks so much for your replies. I have made an appt to see a ob/gyn just to see what he says and check a few things.

Junglemum, I'm interested, how far along were you when you had yours? It's certainly nice to know a baby is possible after having them. We know we can do it as we have a gorgeous boy. I think we'll just try again this month as it's been very much like a normal period.

Powelly I'm so very sorry to hear of your losses. Its so very difficult to know what to do as far as testing goes. I've just lost my 6th little angel bub and I've had some testing done previously. I'm actually going to see my GP and talk to him about seeing someone who really specialises in miscarriages(instead of just my Ob/GYN to try and work out a plan to sort through my 3 known issues that contribute to miscarrying itms. I did see a specialist in Sydney(Dr S) who is very well known by lots of women on BB but he really didn't come through for me when I lost a baby back in March and I'd seen him just before and during that pregnancy but feel that maybe because I'm not from Sydney that might have contributed to the way he dealt with my loss...or lack of help.
I'm a little unsure whether or not to see him again and get more testing done through him or whether I'd be best off finding someone else here.

Anyway if you feel you'd like to have some tests done the by all means do that hun. I say knowledge is power in these circumstances.
Good luck with whatever path you decide to take

Hi, I just thought I'd share too...

I have been TTC for 5 months. In the first month, I had a CP at 5.5 weeks. The second month, nothing. The third month, CP at 5 weeks. The fourth month, nothing. I went to see an Ob/Gyn (on referal from my GP) and we so pleased that she took it seriously. She said that I was right to be concerend about 2 CPs, although she did say that it was VERY common. The blood work she did showed no abnormalities, so she told me to give it 3 months, and if nothing happened, we would try a new line of tests.

    Then.....

I got a BFP yesterday (on the day AF was due)!!!!!!!!!! But, I am scared to death!! The last CP really shook me up. I don't want to get my hopes up too high. That's the awful thing about experiencing this, you are a bit cautious to celebrate!

Anyway, I'll keep you posted. Hopefully this one 'sticks'. Oh, i hope, hope, hope, hope!!!
