Dh has this friend that we see probably once every 3-6 months, him and his wife have a little girl who is now 2. 12 weeks ago they found out they ee expecting and we were one of the first people to know, they came over about a month ago and while I don't usually chat to the wife, I felt that we really connected as this was the first time I'd seen her since having Harlee. We bump into them at the shops quite a bit but her and I are still kind of just connecting. Anyway, we bumped into dh's friend at the shops today and he tells us that they lost their baby at 16 weeks and she birthed it last week. He said that his wife is a mess at the moment and they are going to have a funeral for the baby on wednesday. Dh asked if he would like us to go and he said 'you dont have to' .. What does that mean? What kind of support do we/ can we offer? Do we go to the funeral? Or would that be stepping over the line? My heart is breaking for them.
