The 'Eddy Bear' I am getting 1! Such an awesome idea :)

When I arrived at Bonnie Babes the other night I saw a beautiful teddy bear with his feet inscribed with "Hold me close when you miss me the most'...

When I asked Deb about it she explained.. The 'Eddy Bear' is a teddy bear that was created by a man dying. He and his wife had been together for about 35yrs and so he came up with the idea that when he died his ashes were put inside the teddy bear.. They provide a small heart, which they can put some (if not all) ashes in, then sew it inside the bear, Then on the feet you can choose what to have inscribed.. If you are interested please PM me and I would be happy to give you the number or web address.. I am planning on getting one, kind of as a 2nd year memorial gift for myself.. (Not sure what else to call it.. It's between a would be birthday gift and a death anniversary gift..)

Before I get one though I am going to ask firstly if I can fit the urn inside it, because I don't want to seperate the ashes and also if she can velcro, rather than sew, the back so that I can take out the urn if I want... Hopefully she will do it

Gee some people come up with wonderful ideas! That sounds like a great way to remember your boys.

That is a very cool and unique business she has there. An x partner I was with for about 5 year was called cookie monster (by me) so one year I got him one of the giant plush cookie monster teddy bears. I had given him an Indian Healing stone at some point in our relationship and I ended up unpicking the stitching down the center seem near where the teddy bear heart would be and I put the healing stone in there which to me represented my partner. We eventually broke up and he died but gee it was so great having the teddy bear which really did represent him in more ways than one and it was wonderful that the bear was so huge, perfect for cuddles! I gave the teddy away years later and they never knew what it meant to me, but giving it away represented that I had 'let go' and I moved on.
