PP, how traumatic for you. I had a mc that stretched over 4 weeks, but I was not getting levels monitored, I had two ultrasounds over two weeks and then another two week wait for the actual MC. To be honest I still had pregnancy symptoms including ms. Mine was a blighted ovum where there is actually a placenta growing and making all the right hormones but no baby.

Is there any way they can get you an ultrasound to see what is going on??

I agree with Ladybirdflies, I would try and get an ultrasound to see whats happening as blood tests are not really giving you a definite answer at this stage.

I am so sorry this is still weighing on your mind, I am hoping that everything turns out great as I know how wanted this little bundle will be.

    Hugs for you xoxo

    How long after a loss?

Pp glad you updated, have been thinking about you with fingers crossed.

I don't know much about any of this but the ultrasound does sound like a good idea if you can get one. It might be able to get you a better idea of what is happening.

so sorry you are going through all this and stuck in limbo

    Thought I'd update.

Hcg levels were taken every 48 hours... Drs aren't very optimistic.

    Hcg levels were...
    12 April 14dpo HCG 12
    14 April 16dpo HCG 20
    16 April 18dpo HCG 23

I've had bleeding since 12th April (14dpo on and off and very very light...)

The drs seem to think that it's a non viable pregnancy. However my breasts are still very sore & able to hand express a few drops of breast milk out of each) and ive been feeling on and off queezy. My spotting has slowed rigjt down to close to nothing and my hpts arent really getting lighter... They r probably getting slightly darker? My next beta hcg test is scheduled for Tuesday as I'm letting my veins recover a bit. But if I need one done before I can get one earlier.

Do you think my hcg will rise again? Or start to fall now that it slowed right down & stopped doubling? Do you agree with the doctors diagnosis of a non viable pregnancy?

Honest advice needed please xx thanks in advance.
What a roller coaster. I am so sorry your going through this. Something similar happened to me between no2 and no3. We were ttc and my first Beta was lower then expected (about 60 at 15-16DPO) I had a 2 m/c in the same year so was paranoid about the pregnancy progressing normally to start with. My Beta 48hrs later was slightly lower and at that stage I was bleeding which lasted 8-9days. The bleeding was not typical of a period or my previous m/c's. My Ob then said with a HCG the level mine was and the fact I was bleeding everything would go back to normal basically and an ultrasound showed nothing in the uterus but a slight thickened lining. 2weeks later I tested again as I had no fertility signs and wanted to ttc again straight away and got an extremely positive HPT. When I got my results from a blood test my levels were just over 5000 (by this stage it was almost 3weeks since my last lot of bloods) My GP was very excited and said my pregnancy was progressing normally but at almost 8weeks I knew it should be over 5000 plus the HCG obviously never went back to less then 5. By that stage I knew my pregnancy was ectopic (from working in antenatal clinic) I went to ED and told them the pregnancy was ectopic and later that evening it was confirmed with an ultrasound. The ultrasound still took along time to find it but by then they knew something was going on and they were going to operate to find it anyone. Just as the radiographer was going to give up she found it and I had surgery soon after to remove my pregnancy and tube. I was so ****ed off that if it was diagnosed earlier I could have had methotrexate over having my tube removed.
If your pregnancy tests look darker even if only slightly my guess is your HCG will definately be higher when you have your next test. Unfortunately as much as I hate to say this yes I do agree that this pregnancy will not result in a living baby. If I am to be completely honest then there is definately something remaining and probably growing (hence the rise in HCG). It may resolve on its own or as time goes on may need some treatment to help it resolve.

My bleeding with my ectopic was pink and red with no or very little clots (my normal period is very clotty) it also had alot of mucous with it. It also wasn't painful like even my normal period was let alone a m/c. After this happened to me I learnt its quiet typical to have bleeding like this around the time your period would be due or at the 5week mark or else a prune juice kind of discharge. This leads alot of women to not even know they are pregnant as they mistake it for a funny period.

An ultrasound with a BHCG under 1000-1500 which most likely show nothing. Maybe worth having but I would be surprised if it would show anything at all. Where I work in another week or two if your levels are slowly rising and not going down they would usually treat it with methotrexate if the ultrasound showed an empty uterus.

Re: How long after a loss?

Thank you for your story Mildez. I'm so sorry you had do go through that.
I'm convinced that it's an ectopic or a non viable pregnancy. They can't see anything on the scan and won't prescribe methotrexate until they confirm where the pregnancy is. The fact that my betas aren't behaving is suggesting a non viable pregnancy. When I had an internal ultrasound it looked like normal,no masses, clots or sacs. My bleeding has been somewhat scant and stopped yesterday. I'm so tempted to get another hcg test today. I think I May ring the hospital and ask what's happening and I am still getting pain on my left hand side of my tummy the nausea comes and goes. I thought if it was a non viable pg they would administer methotrexate anyway seeing as I've got symptoms of a suggested ectopic. But maybe they thought my hcg levels were low enough. I will be asking for another ultrasound and blood draw.

To top things off, dd has croup & very unwell. My Mum is coming over today to help out and watch her while I go to hospital.

I guess the thing is unless they are willing to administer methotrexate its really a wait and see. 5months before my ectopic I had another pregnancy of unknown location which I am sure was also an ectopic but this one resolved on its own (HCG never got over 40) and slowly went down to nothing. I am convinced it was also ectopic however and blocked my tube further for my next pregnancy which was a known ectopic and my tube was removed with it. I guess it would be preferred to resolve on its own and only time will tell if it will but you also dont want to leave it too long when methotrexate isn't an option which is what happened it my case. Methotrexate is certainly not without risks especially for future pregnancies soon after its use so I guess that is why they aren't going to offer it as a first line of treatment.
As for another scan within the next 1-2weeks I really think at this time its not going to show anything limbo land sucks big time

Re: How long after a loss?

I honestly don't know what to think. I just wish I knew one way or another....

All I know for now is I'm still pregnant, but I don't know if it'll hang on much longer. Started spotting & cramping again :-(
