Hello all I am the mother of a almost 3 yrs little boy. In October last year during routine dating scan my baby (meant to be 9 wks pregnant) had died at 6 and half. I opted for conservative management as I've had one terrible termination and a emergency cesarian and felt 'not right' about having another d&c. Regular scans have showed the sac is now collapsed. I've had bleeding off and on since November. From dates I've been waiting 3 months.

My question is HOW LONG DID YOU WAIT FOR YOUR BODY TO NATURALLY EXPEL ? ie Are there any women out there who waited longer and how was it emotionally?

Thankyou very much
Issa
hi Issa, i'm karan and was also nine weeks pregnant when i started cramping and spotting..see my intro "newbie" on the other forum page...i'm 43 and wasnt expecting to fall pregnant at all. then just as we got used to the idea.. anyways, apparently i'd been carrying a dead fetus for a week or two, so i went in immediately for the D&C. if left untreated, unexpelled fetal tissue can cause horrendous infection...i've never experienced it myself but seen the results in dogs, cattle and horses having grown up around farms. please talk to your doctor and get it checked. three months is a long time to wait and risk infection. i felt that because i'd already waited two weeks between scans that i couldn't cope with waiting any longer to lose what i already knew was a fetus with no heartbeat. i'm hoping to start trying again asap...wishing you all the best too.
