    M/c now..HELP!

    Hi,

I wasn't sure where to post this, but I am currently going through a m/c. We found out at our scan yesterday 9 weeks 5 days that our baby passed away 1 weeks ago, approx 8 weeks 5 days... At 7 weeks 2 days I had a scan and the senographer said I was 7 weeks 1 day and we had a good heartbeat of 130bpm... I am at loss at to what has happened in that time frame but am realistic about it - that it just wasn't meant to be!

I have had two twin m/c's prior to this one and have always had a curette.

Being Friday I can't get into have a curette until Monday and have to travel 3 hours on Sunday to have that done on the MOnday morning.

I am terrified of doing this natural thing as I have never done it before... I felt such at peace with my curettes to date!

The senographer said yesterday that my uterus was very open and she expected that I would m/c overnight and I didn't... I am having extreme lower back pain with groin and aching legs and minor period pain in my tummy at present... Apparently my cervix is opening from the outside and it normally opens from the Inside... She explained that this is a good thing - if my baby was viable as it will hold the baby in... but as my dr explained this morning (when I rang him), because I have had a cone biopsy my cervix it is going to do this as it is weak, but I should still m/c naturally.

I am at fear of seeing the baby come out and going through this pain and the waiting is doing my head in!

Can anyone give any comforting words or advice on what I should expect if things happen before Sunday/Monday. I am really secretly hoping this m/c can wait until I have a curette - due to my fears and state of mind!

Thanking you all in advance xo

p.s: are there any support groups on here that are current???

    Hi Sheree

I have naturally miscarried 3 babies, all at 6 weeks. For me, I couldn't make out a formed baby, I had several large blood clots, 1 having a lighter pink 'fleshy' look to it. I believe at 8 weeks the foetus isn't yet fully formed, so you shouldn't see a baby as such, hopefully that is of some comfort. There will be a lot of blood, you might want to buy yourself some maternity pads if you use them. Keep a note of how you're feeling - tired and sore is normal, dizzy is not. If you start to feel dizzy or be uncomfortable with the amount of blood you're losing, go straight to your local emergency room.

This section is probably the best, a lot of us have been through what you're about to go through We're here for you when you need us

I could not read and not post, I really don't have much to help you. I MC at the hospital both times and had D&C straight away. Is there a womens clinic anywhere near you? I am not sure but maybe they could help you. I am so sorry that you are going through this. I hope your not alone.

I'm so sorry you are going through this. For the pain, can you get to a chemist and get ponstan? I had a couple of very early miscarriages and this is what my FS told me to use to help with the pain. The bleeding could well be horrendous, anything more than soaking a pad in an hour means a trip to the hospital. But as keike suggested, maternity pads will help. It's important to use pads at this point as there is an infection risk.

Once again, I'm so sorry for your loss.

I had a miscarriage at 11 weeks in September, naturally before a d& c because It didn't all happen as it should...

I experienced a light labour before I passed the baby and extreme bleeding ( so much I couldn't get off the toilet) I hope that things hold out until your d&c if that's what you want. I wish i had the d&c in the beginning.. I haemorraged though for a few weeks...

So sorry for your loss and If you need anything Pm me

SJ - again I am so sorry this is happening to you........

I m/c naturally around the same time as you and there was alot of blood, cramping, emotion and I did pass a fleshy looking item.......it was sort of like it was made of skin and was sac like. It was very confronting and a very hard time. I highly recommend maternity pads, a warm shower and heat pack.

    Hugs for you. Xx

Hi, I am so sorry for your loss. I don't know that I have any medical advice. I've lost a baby at 21 weeks, and I was in the hospital, so I'm not sure what the best thing to do at home is. But it seems like there is some good advice on this thread.

There is a lady in the States who's blog I read. She lost a baby at about 6-8 weeks and she wrote about it and has a small, very lovely picture of the baby's hand. It is not graphic or bloody, but just very sweet. Here is the link if you'd like to read the post about what her miscarriage was like. Happy to be called "Mommy": I have finally found closure
