Is this normal for a natural miscarriage?

I found out on Saturday that I was having an inevitable miscarriage. I was 9 weeks pregnant, but my little one only measured 8wks 2 days.
I was told a currette would not be necessary by the looks of it and I would pass my pregnancy naturally..

On Monday night, I feel I passed most of the pregnancy tissue and had the worst cramps I'd ever felt, but I had thought the worst was over.

Last night, I began getting really sharp stabbing pains all over my stomach area, not only my lower abdomen.. all over. From about 2cm above my belly button down to my pubic area was tender to touch and i was doubled over. It continued today, and is still bothering my this evening. I plan to see the Dr tomorrow, however I was wondering whether anyone else had experienced this? Or if anyone has any idea what might be causing it?

EDIT.. I should also add that i'm still bleeding quite heavily even after a week.. I'm a little bit concerned about an infection.
