Right now he is crossing his legs, he needs to wee. DH just took him into the bathroom but he had to carry him because he was holding onto the door frame...laughing. Hmm. Now he thinks its a game? His behavour is so confusing.
ETA: He just ended up fighting and kicking/hitting DH when he tried to get him to sit on the toilet.

You're his mum, if you think there is more to it, I'd be trusting your instincts and getting some professional advice. There is no harm in asking. If there are bigger issues then understanding them may help with the TT.
Just reading your recent post so I probably wouldn't do this but something I was thinking earlier, if he can hold on like that all day. I wouldn't put a nappy on him at all ever... I would tell him that its such a good thing he can hol dit like that sohe doesn't need a nappy at all.
Of course he is likely to just wet himself & you need to be prepared to deal with that. But I wonder if he just had to go to bed with out it & out to the shops etc with out. He wouldn't have something to hold off weeing for. Like if he knows I can wee & poo at bed time as the nappy goes on then... What is he going to do when it doesn't go on?
But yeah reading your recent posts. I would seek some professional help before trying anything too drastic like that.
T, I'd be writing all of that down and then making an appointment for a Dr and talk it over with him. There is every chance that there is nothing wrong and Charlie is just one very stubborn little boy but maybe if this refusal to go to the loo is a sign of a bigger problem then you can have it dealt with.
In the meantime I did think of one other thing you can try. Is your loo in the bathroom or a room on it's own? If not, you could put a potty in the bathroom and do this too. When you know he is busting, just take him into the bathroom, don't mention anything at all about doing a wee or anything and turn the tap on. The running water should tip him over the edge and then you can quickly get him to pop on the loo or potty. And close your eyes so you can't see him - if he gets embarassed he might be better if you don't watch him.
havent got any other advcie after reading all the new posts, i think your doing great, sounds like your having a really hard time, just sending support and hugs. if you feel you might need to see a doc or something id definatly do it!
This morning just before he got up he did a poo in the nappy and he asked if he could have a shower instead of asking to have his nappy changed. I guess that is progress?
Our toilet is in the bathroom, so if i took him to the bathroom he'd know what i was trying to get him to do. But i will give it a try anyhow.
I think he is starting to realise that we're serious now. He isn't chucking any tantrums about having no nappy on now which is good. Just need to get past this fear of the toilet or whatever it is.
I'll make an appt with the dr soon. Its just hard cause im going through all this to get a diagnosis for DD. It's so draining for just one, i hope i dont have to go through it with 2.
Depends on how you look at it. We've gotten rid of day time nappies. But he still won't wee on the toilet. He just freaks out everytime we try and i have exhausted all options. GP says to just persist but its not working.
If you said to him that hecould sit on the toilet but he doesnt have to do a wee what would he say? I am just wondering if he wouldnt feel as much pressure then and end up doing a wee anyway. Lots of
I don't know if someone has already suggested it, but there are these things that hang on the side of the toilet (I think they're called "Weeman"?) and it becomes a mini urinal type thing...so he can stand up to pee like a big boy, and doesn't have to sit on the toilet. I know that doesn't help with poos, but maybe it would be a start?
It must be hard for you.
I also don't know if someone has suggested putting food colouring in the water? You could take him in and show him the colour, and just see if he'll stand there calmly to start with? I also suggested the ping-pong ball in the toilet - makes it something fun to aim at...
How ru doing? With Julia is was such a lengthy process, she held on too until her night time nappy for poos and wees. In the end we said no nappy at all even at night or going out and that worked.
