Help me please..... at the end of my tether...

I am beginning to loose the plot I think... DD who is about to turn 3 is STILL not doing Poo on the toilet. She is 99.99% dry during the day with the once in a very blue moon wee accident, and 100% dry at night. one day she'll do it on the toilet and we'll jump up and down like crazy people with excitement and give her a sticker for rewards chart, call the grand parents to tell them the good news, and even give her special treats... Then for the next few days its back to in her pants. It seems like 1 step forward and 20 steps back. We have tried everything that i can possible think of, rewards chart, making her sit in her poos for a bit, telling her she wont be able to go to Kinder if she does it in her pants, i have even lost the plot with her once and turned psycho mum.... She will sit there and start the pushing face, and if you ask her if she is doing Poo she'll flat out say NO and then 2 minutes later come and tell me it's in her pants. If I move her to the potty or toilet she'll stop and nothing will come out...

nothing is helpping. I was wanting to start her sister who is only 18 months but starting to get the interest in the toilet etc...

Please if you have any ideas or advice I would really appreciate the input before I loose it at her.... I am trying to be positive all the time, but it's becomming beyond a joke.

I've got no experience in this as yet but maybe going ahead and starting her sister (if that's not way too much work to do both!) would give her a kick up the bum? Especially if she maybe sees *her* doing poos in the toilet/potty and getting big rewards and cuddles... Do kids work like that?

She is 3.. she obviously isnt ready just let her guide you.. she knows what you want you have become "psyhco mummy" over poo.

whats another 6 months.

its easier on your head to let go of this and relax she then wont be scared of pooing either

DS took over a yr to tt.. DD will tell us when she is ready much easier then pushing them into it

You'll get there eventually. Will she use a nappy to poo in? If so you could just put a nappy on to cath the poo when she's ready then clean up and put the undies back on. It might save you a bit of stress and once the situation is a bit less fraught you can move on.

Thanks guys.... just found another thread with the same question.... ok... I am taking a deep breath and we will get her helpping to clean it up, and make it a nicer experience....

WE have same issue. DD2 will only poo in a nappy. I read somewhere this is completely normal and can last a year even. So DD wee's in toilet, poo's in nappy. I dont know how she holds it until there's a nappy avail (we only put it on at night). Anyway, we're just waiting until she's ready.

My DD needs privacy to do number 2's, (mummy going to the toilet however is a spectator sport )I either have to shut the door or walk out of her line of vision, not sure if its smoething you could try with your dd. Good luck I hope it happens or you soon.

I think if she is doing the pooing face (lol, my daughter does a pooing face too!) just put her on the toilet, even if she says she isnt doing a poo. My daughter used to do it too. She'd squat and do her pooing face, and I'd ask her if she was pooing.. she would tell me NO! and then a minute later she come over to me pointing to her bum saying 'poo in there' and she will have done a poo. So I just watched for the pooing face and everytime i saw it I'd just put her on the toilet and tell her "you can poo in the toilet if you need to" and she got the picture.
