how on earth do you easily get the poo off sposies to flush?

When Iz was littlier and her poo was runny and absorbed into the nappy it was different, but now that she is on solids her poo is more solid too and I hate putting it in the bin, but when I try to get it off the nappy, it is next to impossible without getting it all over the toilet, me and then the nappy that I somehow had to fold.

I know there are flushable liners -but that just seems like more waste and impact on the environment? Help!

Ok. I'm up for some poo talk, LOL! I drop whatever will fall off into the toilet, then I use toilet paper to grab hold of the solid bits that seem intent on sticking. Yep, certainly not glamorous, but there you go.
I know my SIL uses a 'poo stick' (which is a retired wooden spoon) to rid her cloth nappies of poopies, and I'm sure that'd work on a sposie too.
You could also get a little squirt - though that's a more expensive option and I don't know how they go on sposies...

PMSL at "poo stick"!! I used a wipe to try and grab it but I might just need some more practise I guess! Ah the joys!

i use disposables and i do just that 'i dispose of the poo and all in the bin'. I have heard about the legalities etc but i have not known anyone personally who has done anything diff to me. If i were you and really did not want to put the poo in the bin then the poo stick idea was pretty good but i'd be worried about keeping it hygenic iykwim.

I dont know anyone that flushes the poo down the toilet unless they are using Cloth nappies, I use cloth nappies so I have too. I know that your meant to flush the poo from a disposable but I didnt know this till a few months ago.

Yeah its actually illegal to get rid of faeces in landfill - although I can't see them DNA testing the poop to find out who did it, but I already feel guilty enough about sposies without worrying about the now - "adult" looking poo in there too!

Well my fav method is to scrape it off with a spoon and then wipe it off the spoon with a bit of toilet paper and flush away. I've got it all set up in the laundry and it takes only a min or so and it's done.

But I'm a clothie and used to poo wrangling

Yeah you are supposed to, I'm interested to know how many do? Obviously those who dont use sposies...but who uses sposies does that first?? I dont.

Can I ask where and how you store the spoon Sam!???? Maybe a container filled with bleach or something could work I guess (thinking aloud here can you tell )

I have a container in the trough with all my nappy cleaning tools No bleach but I give it a wash in hot water afterwards.

If you have a look, it's written on every pack of disposable nappies....

I just had a look at my pack of nappies and it doesn't say anywhere on there about it being illegal!

Edit- It says to remove waste before tossing out!

Must admit I use sposies and I don't, though I knew you're supposed to. I will be starting with cloth soon so I should start to get used to it, LOL!
