night time wetting

My eldest is great during the day hasnt been wet in months...its night time we r having problems....we make sure he goes before bed....and he still wets it....im sick of changing wet smelly clothes and sheets

I totally get where you are coming from so

My DD is a May 06 baby and at her 4yo immunisation the nurse told me it wasn't normal for a 4yo to still be wetting the bed at night....I told her where to stick her information (politely of course) as all children develop differently. Despite the fact that it feels like every other child TTs at night as the same time as the day, there are far more older children who just can't manage yet than you can imagine.
I just had DD in pullup nappies. It was easier for all concerned and I stuck to my belief that she'd do it when she was good an ready. Don't get me wrong we had tried everything everyone suggested and then 6months ago I figured I'd just wait her out. Only in the last 2 weeks has she managed, but it was like a switch went off and all of a sudden she could just 'do it'.
Grab him some pullups and tell him you know he'll manage to do it when he's ready.

my ds2 is only 3.5 but the constant wetting the bed drives you nuts! i put pull-ups on him, and 9/10 he wakes during the night takes it off and ends up wet regardless.
could you limit his fluid intake befor bed? it hasnt worked on my ds2, but could help work for you? also waking ds1 befor we went to bed, just for a quick loo stop worked for him, not for ds2 but! good luck, i hope he figures it out soon for your sake!

My DS2 is 4.5yrs old. He is very wet in the morning. I use pull ups at night, no choice really. I also have a Connie/Kerri under the sheets in case he wets through the pull up.
When we start to get serious about night training, I will use (as I did for DS1) the Connie/Kerri on top of the sheets so I don't have to change sheets. I have two so I can change them and not have to worry about them drying after washing straight away.
You need at least 7days without a wet night before, you could try doing the lift to the toilet before you go to bed, It may work?
My DS1 didn't stop wetting at night until he was 5.5.
It's very normal, frustrating I know, he will stop one day.

Same here! My ds1 is 5yrs old and after 4 nights of waking up dry he's gone back to wetting every night. I got sick of constantly changing sheets so he's back in dry nights. We still take him to the toilet before we go to bed (around 11pm), but it doesn't make any difference, he's still wet in the morning.
No idea what to do with him, he just doesn't wake up when he needs to go, I think that's something that needs to click in their brain iykwim? Not something I can teach him.

Fraid so...GP's want even consider any referral or testing until after 7yrs old. You could try a bed alarm, that may work.
I found that DS1 was a really really deep sleeper, so it was really just time and alot of patience in the end.

My middle son is still in nappies at night, and he is 5. Girltwin is a lot closer to losing her night nappies that he is, they are all just ready in their own time

So glad to know that this is the 'norm' with alot of parents. I was stressing about DD - she is 3.5yo, tt during the day but her nappy is so wet in the morning it's as heavy as a bowling ball - we leave a nappy off until bedtime too!
