Rather than a potty, my SIL swears by a stand that has steps on the front and a toilet seat that goes up and down. I think it's called bambini pronto? She said her kids didn't understand the potty because they never saw mum and dad using it. This one is easy to put on the toilet and they can climb up themselves.
