Some stores offer a "mixed bag" of nappies to get you started and to also allow you to try a few different brands and types of nappies before deciding which type is best for you and your baby. I think the ones with the waterproof outer shell you are talking about are Eenees, but I don't know how reliable they are as I've never used them.
