Thanks girls, all very useful suggestions. You're right, i will have to find what works for DS, he's right into Thomas and trains in general so maybe i'll start with stickers along that line. Good point about the rewarding just for trying, i was going to do that but i can definitely see DS just going to the toilet to get a sticker or reward, so I'll make sure he only gets it if he does something.

Anymore hints/ suggestions greatly appreciated. It is close to when the new bub comes home but my mum will be here to help out for a couple of weeks when bub arrives and she's brilliant with kids and will try and continue with whatever system i have in place, who knows, it might work better when she's around
