Introducing her to the potty for "fun" I think is a good idea - just make it like a game, and if she does something on it throw a big party!
When I TT'd DD#1 I used the potty trainer dot com and it worked for us - she was fully day trained within weeks of her second birthday. They do have tips on early training so maybe check it out.
You could also try EC?? Sites like tribal baby are helpful.
